Anyone play TERA?
0
After Fantasy Online closed at the end of 2013, I had a massive sads. I've been looking for a new MMO to play, but it's kinda hard to sort out the junk from the real good stuff. My friends say League of Legends is good, but that's not my kind of game. I'm looking for some more level-grind RPG-type stuff. TERA looks to fit my tastes, but my current computer is too old to handle it. Tl;dr, if there's any TERA gamers out there, care to chime in on your opinions of it?

I used to play it, but the F2P thing kind of destroyed it.
Overall, the game is nice, but the combat system was a bit cluncky in some aspects. Nevertheless was fun and engaging. The only thing I didn't like was the F2P thing and that at max level the grind for gear and enchants was extremely awful.
Anyway, I loved and enjoyed the year I spent playing it (and paying the subscription). I played 6 Classes and I found them all rewarding and fun, some more than others, but good overall.
It is the right forum, but maybe there is already another topic? I am not sure.

Same as above.
Used to play it but after a while reaching to max level on two characters, the game fell flat on it's face.
There's no real end game and PvP is pretty.. wonky at best. My last days in that game resulted in usually some shenanigans at Lumbertown. Either killing people who were killing lowbies or something completely different.
It was nice though on first playthrough (Warrior) because of the bit different combat system what you're used to in other MMO's, so I'm quite sure you can have some decent fun in the game for some weeks for sure. But don't expect same level of stuff you see in veteran MMO's who have been around a while.

I'm playing the game.. Barely level 36 as a lancer and I like the game so far. Pretty graphics.
Started playing when it went f2p in the beginning of 2013, but stopped soon after. Picked it up again inlast month and been playing casually since.

F2P is what saved it from going under in NA/EU.

Hi, my fault for the bad choice of words. What I meant was that game became less fun to play it since the change to F2P. Anyway, what the F2P change did was "save the companies from closing the game servers in NA/EU". The grind when it was P2P was huge, but was doable. When it went F2P was simply impossible to do/obtain anything without Shop Items Help and that was not fun at all. In addition, it was extremely easy to spend much more money after F2P change than before with the subscription. That was another reason why I left the game.
Hope this makes things clear now. :)
On the other hand I don't know how things are nowadays, maybe the thing have improved. I don't know, I am speaking of when I sued to play the game.
