Brave Soul

I just tested it by mounting the cue file in the latest daemon tools and installing. It installed with no errors. Anyone who is having problems, please specify what OS you're using as well as any compatibility modes you've tried. When you start the game there should be an option menu. I used the GDI option and windowed mode. Perhaps there's a bug with full screen on certain resolutions for people who opened it and got a black screen.

Has anyone been able to solve the "Setup cannot open the source file 'E:\brave_s\brave_s.exe'" probelm during installation yet?

Hi All,
I think I found out why it the brave_s.exe file may be giving some issues.
If your Anti-virus program has picked out the forementioned file, the odds are very likely that your anti-virus program has restricted all access to that file, to prevent any risk of running it. And you don't want to play with the ACL unless you really know what you are doing. (Involves the windows registry.)
The easiest fix to this is I found (currently using AVG), and I can't believe I'm gonna say it, by uninstalling your anti-virus program. Then proceed to install the CD using daemon tools of course. Then install the patch as it will overwrite the brave_s.exe file anyway.
I still have to run another scan and see those results, but it worked for me thus far, and I feel rather confident that there is know real virus/trojan. Sometimes programs have code in it that appears malicious to the Anti-virus but really its not.
Happy installing. ;)
PS. Due this at your own risk. I don't know what other files you may have on your PC's.

Tried that, but because the anti-virus already set restrictions on the ACL (access control list) it still wouldn't install. Not until I removed the anti-virus program (AVG in this case). The restrictions will not remove from the ACL in the windows registry unless the program that placed it is removed. In which the restrictions that the AV program placed will be removed removed or undone with it.
But this should only be the case if the AV program picked up brave_s.exe as a trojan/virus.
And I've done a follow up scan, and still clean. And enjoying a great game now. :)

Alright, I could use some major help with this one considering that I am an idiot, so if anyone could help it would be most appreciated. I mounted the CUE on Daemon and installed with no problem but I cannot play. When I try to open through a shortcut I get a "Not Responding" message. When I change the settings (fullscrren->window, DirectDraw->GDI, and so on) and then hit start, I get "File not found 'cgdb'" followed by "File not found 'item'"
Then I just get a black screen followed by a "Not Responding Window"
--edit--
Yeah, nevermind, I got it going.

I've got a problem, during the setup I get this message:Setup cannot open the source file 'E:\brave_s\brave_s.exe'
That and my antivirus tells me I've got a trojan "Trojan horse SHeur.CPXZ" when I get to the point that the setup fails. My antivirus is detecting one of the files as a trojan I think, so that might be what's screwing up the setup but I don't know for sure.
YO!! ^^ did you get to solve your problem?? I'm having the same problem to... how did you manage to play it??
