Description
Takumi is a high school student. He is withdrawn and is not interested in 3D things. In his town, a mysterious serial murder case happens and people get panicked. One day, when he chats on the internet, a man suddenly contacts him and gives him an URL. He goes to the website and finds a blog image that suggests a next murder case.... On the next day, it really happens....

Chaos;Head (カオスヘッド, Kaosu Heddo?) is a Japanese visual novel developed by 5pb. and Nitroplus with gore, psychology, and science fiction elements that was released on April 25, 2008 for the PC.[3] A port of the game, tentatively named Chaos;Head Noah, for the Xbox 360 console is currently in development and is slated for release in 2009.[1] The game is described by the development team as a "Delusional Science NVL" (妄想科å¦NVL, MÅsÅ Kagaku NVL?).[3][4] The game's premise revolves around a high school student named Takumi NishijÅ who unknowingly walks into the scene of a gruesome murder on his way home. More mysterious events starts happening afterwards as more gruesome murders occurs in the area. Takumi struggles to cope with reality and the delusions he experiences as he tries to avoid getting caught by the perpetrator behind the chain of murders.

wow I've read about this game on another forum but I didn't know there was an english patch. You said up to chapter 9 is translated but how much chapters are there overall in the game? Thanks for the upload as well.

I'm having problems installing the game. I've downloaded the actual game and unrar'ed to give me an iso image and a noDVD folder. I've also downloaded the complete english patch but haven't got to using it yet.
I mounted the iso image using daemon and inputted a serial number I found on hongfire. The installation starts but it then hangs up with an error message saying
"C:\Program files\Nitroplus\CHAOS;HEAD\dx\mv?0.1ngs
The file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect"
My guess is that this happened because I didn't follow your instructions which I also don't really understand.
Gotta install both. You install it by extracting it to your Chaos;Head root folder (where it's installed) and running the .bat file (don't extract anything else!).
Please help :)

I haven't installed the game or the patch yet, i can't really help you with that right now, i borrowed those instructions from a m8 at another forum who's playing the game atm.

1. Rename all the Chaos files to have .rar at the end of them
2. Extract the files

4. Copy the file in the NoDVD file over the file in the root directory
5. Extract all files from the translation into the root directory
6. Open the Bar file and press any button twice
7. Set Unicode to Japanese (You can do this through you're language control settings)
8. Open the file you copied earlier
9. I'm not going to tell you how to play the game, do it yourself

I did all this and I could open the program fine, but now I'm having an issue with the "Start game" once its opened. The screen will fade as if it's going into the first chapter, but the game returns to the title screen. I'll update if I can fix it.
Edit: I'm thinking it may have something to do with that UnRAR file that's included. I manually changed mine to RAR and it opened so I figured that was right, but I may be wrong. Can anyone confirm how the UnRAR works?
As i already said i haven't tried this game out myself yet, so i won't know how to fix problems that occurs with the game at this point.
I did however ask my m8 bout the "UnRAR.exe" application, and according to him it's nothing you need at all.

I said before you shouldn't have to extract anything else, so just ignore the "UnRAR.exe". It should go away after you've installed the patch.

This game is dark, and what is up with him living in a crate O.o I'm almost curious if I want to finish this... *gulps as he continues clicking* The characters are really interesting though, definitely a 1 of a kind game

ok so no one got that error message during the installation process? My installation bar gets interrupted like around 90% done >.<

I figured out the problem and solution. Had to change the regional setting to japanese, silly me. Still after i've patched the game, everything is still in japanese. >.<
Found my problem again :)
I had to give permission to change the files in the folder so that the patch would work. Hope no one is having so many problems as me
