I had a fond attachment to Sakura Kasugano from the Street Fighter series a while back. I even blogged about it on gameinformer.com a while back and got a decent reception.
But, I don't think I ever got as much attachment to a character as much as to my waifu, Kisaragi Chihaya, from The iDOLM@STER. Ever since 2007, when iM@S first came out for the Xbox 360, I saw a few vids for iM@S on Nico Nico, and once I saw a video of Chihaya singing "Aoi Tori", I was hooked for life. Her astonishing voice, her cute, petite figure, and just how passionately she sang made me tear up and my heart skip a beat (per se). Once I've delved into the lore of iM@S, especially Chihaya's storyline, I really felt like I really wanted to be there with her forever. I still do hold her dear to my heart till this day and most likely, always will.

Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago from Gears of War, when I first played 1 when it came out I thought it was going to be a run of the mill gory shooter, but it ended up being one of my favorite game series of all time, by the end of 3 really wanted to get revenge for Dom.

Zack Fair in Crisis Core, Minato in Persona 3,These two, but mostly Zack Fair. I have yet to play FFVII, so I thought I would feel disconnected when playing Crisis Core. But it didn't. It felt fresh. It's totally Zack's story, not Cloud's.
It pulled me into the FFVII world, and made me sympathize and care so much for Zack.
If this is what a prequel for FFVII can do to my feels, I'm afraid I might get moreso emotional when I finally play it.

Ever since I started playing pokemon since 1998, I felt like a pokemon master whenever I control my avatar in the game.

All of the characters from the tutorial beginning in Fire Emblem for the GBA. By the time it ended, I really got attached to them, especially Lyndis. The fact that the characters spoke to you, or rather to your avatar, really made me care for them. When the credits rolled and the actual game started, I was genuinely sad that I won't be seeing them again... and my joy when I got them in my party again! Ah, memories... :3
Also, the ending to Mega Man Zero 4 made me realize how attached I got to him. I was sad for a week Q.Q

Ruy form Street Fighter.
I want find the meaning or Enlightenment in the thing I hold so close to heart and love to do, fighting.
Here something people don't know.
Fighting = Life.
So Ryu is traveling the world trying to find the meaning of Life.
Capcom can be such geniuses.
Sakura too. I too watch my idols fight and try to copy their moves and trying find my own style in other people's moves and someday longing to fight those who I idolized and only seen through Streams. "The Next Generation." The Diamond in the Rough."

i don't know if i have ever gotten attached. Luke from TOA, i liked how naive he was, and how he developed through the game along with you. i liked how he found himself to have to question if what he was doing was right, and having emotional conflicts about his fighting. Jansen Friedh from Lost Odyssey. i liked his personality, and how he changed through the game(i am on disc 4). Raven from TOV because of his personality, no other reason just how he is. Emma from The Last Remnant, just something about the old woman that just made me wanted her to be a member of any team i had because of how purely able to rape anyone she was. i know that doesn't flow right, but i never found someone able to replace her as a party member through that game(on disc 2).
Leo from Record of Agarest War. he was my favorite character so far in that game(i never have finished either of my 2 playthroughs). Meracle from Star Ocean The Last Hope. she is fun, no other reason needed in my mind. Marina Wulfstan from Valkyria Chronicles. BOOM! and the field is clear, only sniper i know who could take out a tank, and 3 leaders, and capture the position single handedly.

Most recently Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite, her development as a character was fantastic.
TFW you realize none of the characters you grow attached to in video games will ever be by your side or serve you drinks at a bar.

All the character in GoldenSun, Arisato Minato/MC from Persona 3, Sonic the Hedgehog
But the one i am very attached to is Zack Fair.
The time spent in his company have been fabolous, making me feel very strong emotions through the adventure.
He is also a source of admiration for me.

Aeris and Cloud from FFVII. Watching Aeris and Cloud flirt throughout the story was enjoyable for me, I loved the watching the time they spent together.
Then Sephiroth killed her... Then seeing Cloud hold her in his arms... Then the feels.

Clementine from Walking Dead.
Games that let me create a character such as MMO's or single player games like Mass Effect or Dragon Age. I hate when my creations get killed. :[ they are like my babies. :P
