Cheap Hori Fightstick
Are they worth a damn? Anyone know any better ones for about the same price? I'm buying for use with ps3 and windows.

Honestly you're better off saving up and getting a TE stick or a Qanba. They're expensive as hell but at least the parts don't wear out after three months.

If you are looking for a cheap arcade stick, I'd suggest nothing cheap from Hori. Unfortunately, a lot of the parts, both in the hardware and software department, wear out very quickly or burn out over a short period of time.
On the other hand, Hori's more expensive arcade stick line-up, such as the VLX or HRAP3, are much better in quality and durability due to the fact that they have actual JPN arcade parts into them, over their cheap knock-offs from the cheaper Hori sticks.
If you are really on a budget though and have the cash to shell $65-$80, I'd suggest the MadCatz SE. Even though they still have the knock-off arcade parts (i.e. arcade stick and buttons) similar to the cheap Horis, it's a lot more durable, and once you have enough money, I'd also suggest replacing the stick and buttons for actual arcade parts.
Sanwa and Seimitsu are the most known brands, Fanta and Crown are known for quality Korean parts to play Tekken and King of Fighters, and if you are feeling a tech-savy, you could try fitting Suzo-Happ parts into the SE shell for the authentic American arcade feel.
Hope this helps~

I actually have the blue variant of that. For its price, it's not a bad stick, but I found the buttons a bit small and the stick to not have as much resistance as I liked. That's what lead me to go buy a MadCatz Brawlstick (basically the SE with shitty WWE All-Stars art) and replaced the stock parts with a Seimitsu stick and buttons.
Now the only time I use the Hori stick is when I'm playing old arcade games or Touhou games on my PC.
TL;DR version : It's okay in terms of price, but you better off modding an SE or getting a TE (which I have yet to get myself.)

I would personally go with the Qanba Q1 [PS3 X PC]. What you have posted I would only suggest if you are only playing by yourself or just have a very small interest in playing fighting games [or the occasional STG] and trying to decide if getting into it feels right. That hori is , by the books, a trial controller.
If that is not the case with you, then just get the Qanba Q1. It's cheap enough that it wouldn't be too much of a investment, but good enough to where it doesn't feel lacking if by chance you hunger for something more.
