crimson gem saga the best psp rpg ever a MUST play
0
hello fakku when i went on youtube to see the crimson gem saga trailor the visuals are very astonishing. The game mechanics are perfect. the characters are well drawn and the music is fantastic. Being an old school gamer that i am ive never played an rpg this good for an handheld. Biggest of all is the story, people the story is now where near lacking.

From what I've heard about the game, it sounds just like a typical JRPG, nothing more, nothing less. I think to say its "the best" and a "MUST play" is quite the exaggeration.

I watched a couple of trailers, and usually I would agree that this isn't anything too impressive. But this is for psp, and there are hardly any rpg titles available that are that impressive to begin with. The combat system here seems to be a simple turn based one, with the additional option of adding extra hits during your turn by using precise button presses, sort of like Mario RPG. The voice acting isn't horrible, and the animation can be classified as generic. Any other system this would just be another cookie-cutter rpg, but since it is actually a translated game for the psp, it gets a few more stars. If you are like me, and have exhausted your stock of rpg action for the handheld, then you probably need to play this once it comes out.
ADDENDUM: I have now played this game, and have to agree with Stray Dog. This is a horrible little game, that seems to work very hard to make sure you don't actually enjoy any of it. The only good part is that some of the dialog (when you actually run into some) is humorous. The battles are tedious and long, leveling up takes forever with the most retarded skill-tree system I've ever seen, and I don't think I've ever seen such a large assortment of characters that I simply don't care for. The main character is a douche with an inferiority complex, who is then joined by a generic thief girl who is clearly the main focal point of the story, a whiny-ass wizard, a useless jackass with a hammer, and finally a martial artist who looks alot more badass than he actually is. I assume there are other characters after this, but I have worn out my patience.
Skip this one, it's not worth it.

This game is boring. The gameplay is incredibly dated, and this is coming from someone who actually likes turn-based combat. The story was... was there even a story? For every sentence of dialog it seemed like you had to fight your way through a hundred battles. There was so little of it, and it seemed like it wasn't going anywhere. But to be fair, I never got around to finishing it - for obvious reasons.
