What got me into this game was the counter system. It really placed this game into my favorite lists.
Personally Ultimate 2 was the best one out of the series. Though 4 and Dimensions [by far the best fighting game for the 3ds] are right below it.
I got extremely lucky at akon and had my copy of dimensions signed by team ninja and the man behind dead fantasy.
That's pretty awesome, man. Good to hear that, and good to hear you're looking forward to DOA5. Me personally, Ultimate 2, 3.1 and 4 are my favorites.

Ah, in U2 I mained Ayane, in 3 I mained Ayane. In 4 I mained Ayane and subbed Genfu. I haven't played 4 in over 2 years now though since I retired from the game and scene. I will be back for DOA5 though.

I've never really cared about Dead or Alive's sexuality issues. I play it just like my favorite versus games, I win and I get the bragging rights, I lose and just hit rematch.

I've seen videos of it and that's what I was thinking. I remember one of my friends playing DoA Dimensions and he was complaining about it and I told him, "Can't you just sidestep it or something?"
And he sold the game a month later.

Ryu's projectile, Genra's projectiles and Raidou's projectile nearly ruined my DOAD online experience.
I just hope Genra and Raidou will be left out of DOA5. (Especially GENRA).

Genra and Raidou will not be in the roster. Team Ninja is doing everything they can to ensure DOA5 is really good (i.e. multiple beta testing at public places, listening to the community's competitive players), not a slighty revamped DOA4 with crap.

The only one I have played has been DOA 4 and I got my ass handed to me, you die fast compared to the other fighters that I have played

just bought the game today and i'm getting the Collector's Edition set which got the game,Soundtrack disc,metal plate collection which is small keholder plates that got each of the girls illustration inside and finally,the art book.
it even has a DL Code for getting Kasumi,Ayane and Hitomi's SEXY COSTUME!!!

It could have been better myself considering the standards of consoles we're using, but you have to remember that the game has both English and Japanese VA's to work with and the game didn't do a good job making the English dubbed voices work for the cinematics.

Still doesn't help with the severe lack of story content in this game, Hildedge. All I'm seeing so far is just cutscenes, a quick tutorial to be performed midgame, then straight up fighting.
