Dead Space

Had my eye on this title for some time, and it gets released next month.

The game is a survival horror set in space and sees you playing as Isaac Clarke, a space engineer who works for the Concordance Extraction Corporation, a company that operates "giant mining ships" throughout the galaxy. His company receives a distress call from the USG Ishimura, a “Planet Cracker” class ship that destroys planets in order to extract valuable ore. Assuming that the ship has had a mechanical failure, Isaac and two other C.E.C employees set out to rendezvous with the Ishimura. They soon discover that the ship has been overrun by a hostile alien race. After boarding the ship, Clarke is separated from his party and must battle his way through various hazardous environments to safety

This is 1 of the few games im going to buy. It looks awesome and I have high hopes for it.

I want this, but I will wait alittle to see how it is when it comes out. I think it either will be really good, or another Dark Sector.

Dark sector wasnt that bad. Alone in the dark was way more disappointing.

Dark Sector was that bad, and so was AitD, but AitD has nothing to really do with this style of game (other than the "horror") so I used Dark Sector.

No it pissed me off because i got to like chaper 7 or 8 and nothing interesting had happened, nothing.

Admitedly it was a little slow in its plot, and it pretty much is fighting the same endlessly respawning enemies over and over but at least it tried something new. It may have failed but they took a gamble and i respect them for it.

This game looks very good. If someone hasn't seemed it yet there is a perfect prequel to the story in form of animated comic.

Strategic dismemberment is an interesting mechanic and really fun in a sadistic kinda way.

This game does indeed look interesting but I doubt I will buy it (at least anytime soon) because I'm spending my money on Disgaea 3 (already spent in this case), Spore, and The Force Unleashed. That's pretty much all I can afford for a while.

the creators of this game are looking to make you drop a load in your pants (or so the interviews say).

Im not one for survivor horror, due to all the "GOTCHA!!" moments (ie. back when DOOM '94 was king, I spent about 10min in a level looking for some keys I'd missed. When I stumbled onto the keys, monsters were behind the door and I jumped about 2 feet away from my keyboard.)

My little bro on the otherhand has been fiending for this game. He's the kind of kid who'll just use an improvied beating stick and actively hunt these things.

I dont think there will be middle ground with this game. You will love it or its not your cup of tea.

This game has been banned in Japan, China, and Germany. So got to be doing something right :D

It probably has something to with the whole strategic dismemberment thing, limbs flying every which way. Or maybe it has to do with the fact all the monster are mutant undead.

Mutant undead...Resident Evil, Silent Hill.
Dismemberment...Gears of War.

The series that I know that fit into teh categories and are popular in Japan. Yes people who actually own a 360 in japan (not like there's that many) like GoW.

Too bad the Japanese aren't going to be able to play it. Or the Germans and Chinese

soooo bloody dismemberment is bad but GoW is still in there...and their loads of pornography stuff.

The trailer looked pretty sweet, but the in-game video was kinda boring tbh.
Could go either way.
