Defense of the Ancients 2

I havent played the new game mode yet. It sounds like so much fun, and the new items for Anti-mage and WR looks sick.

Tried a couple games so far, can't seem to win for the life of me. A lot of teams tend to go with hard carries + turtlers for the best success.

I have played a few and i find it kind of fun. Good place to farm items and such.

I overall love the Halloween update, big thanks to Valve!!

Dire tide is pretty fun. Everytime you win a round, you get items. I hope the game mode is always available. And not a yearly event

So Diretide is actually pretty fun. Then everyone started instalocking Anti-Mage. Also Bat Rider. Then they just backdoor your candy all day every day. Fighting Roshan at the end is still fun and free items is always cool though.

It is 100% a yearly event. I think it ends Nov 12 which is when the greevil eggs hatch.

Anyone know how the egg works? I used a mythical essence and got the dreaded egg, what would happen if I were to add quas/wex/exort essences onto it?

Did they add the Naga Siren into Dota 2 yet? It was my favorite hero in original and it wasn't in yet when i was playing Beta.

Yes they have. And her early game got nerfed hard recently.

she is still a really strong hero. i think she's still a top 10 hero despite her falling out after the TI2

No one really knows for sure. Valve has not said anything other than the colors of the grevills is based off of the essences used, wex+exort= orange, quas+exort= purple, etc. If you use shadow it will be black no matter what. Some are saying that depending on the essences it will give different horns, wings, arms and legs. Again, nobody really knows and everything is speculation based off of people looking at the code. I think you can buy an egg in the shop if you want a second one too.

Probably because Blizzard holds some kind of copyright over the name "Warchief".



Yeah, but if I were to add some common essences to my dreaded egg, would that override anything? Surely someone has already tried this.

I think it is based off of the first 2 or 3... not sure though. I know for shadow it does not matter. Sunsfan and Reaves explain what they know in their weekly update but it is not much.

anyone know the drop rate on the unusual essence?

Have had dota 2 for a while and only played it twice. One time broodmother the other lina. Tried to play anti mage in a passive bot game and learning a new moba confusing to me@_@

how do I use items without clicking on them. I went to key bindings menu and its says like kp_1. Idk what that means

I would assume kp 1 means keypad 1. I think thats how you used to use items in original dota on warcraft 3, im not sure if you can change it, ive only played a few games myself. This thread kinda makes me wana try it out again though >.>

Like, item actives? For me, I just press 1 through 6 like in LoL. Didn't switch any key bindings around or anything either. The one difference is that you sometimes have to click on someone or something after pressing the button like with a salve (potion), you have to choose a target. Dunno if that helps at all.

oh yeah i was trying to heal with a potion. didnt know i had to click on myself
