Got a copy of this game this week and got the pre-order bonus as well.
You can summon two demons at once and they'll help you fight. You can tell them to use a skill or physical attacks. Skills drain mag. Mag is recharged after hitting a weakness and using regular attacks.
Circle is regular attacks that can combo.
Triangle is a strong attack. Drains mag.
Square is your gun, it fires 6 shots before you have to reload and it can stun enemies.
I didn't do much research on the game, so I was surprised that it wasn't turn based.

I got the game not to long ago and so far its awesome.It did take a little bit of time to calling demons back to Raidou,dogeing,anduseing atou repeat effectively though

I've been meaning to get this one. After Persona 4 became my third favorite RPG of all time, I've been looking to try other series developed by Atlus. Also, I'm hearing good things about this game.

question, is the story connected with the 1st game? otherwise i wont play yet until i get and finish the 1st one

It`s not really connected,you can play the 2nd one without playing the 1st one..That`s what I heard.

yeah but playing the 1st one will give better understanding of the stories....

From what I can gather, I haven't played the first one, there are some recurring characters, but that is as far as it goes.

Couldn't help myself not to post in an Atlus game topic.
I had devil summoner 2 for some time now.Played for about 40 hours only. This game have been improved in many ways compared to DS1 and is very enjoyable.Lots of innovations like: *LUK* is really needed now as a stat,2 Demons at once is great,AT LAST they have made the *demon negotiations* again.If you played the DS1 and have a savegame left you can import it into the 2nd game.Changes will be as follows :If you battle a demon which you had in a previous game,it can join you right away.As for the story connections,maximum which you will get are dialogues like *this thing is similar to that other thing you've done against the soulles army etc etc.* Oh and as allways,an awesome soundtrack by Shoji Meguro,that guy never fails to amaze me.

I love this game. For some reason, everything i hated about another game is in DS2, but it works out so much better. i guess the only thing that werids me out is no voice acting, but as someone who claims 'All the best RGP games are on Gameboy!', i'm ok with that.
