I just bought a Vita last weekend, with the intention to play Valkyrie Drive, Senran Kagura (Shinovi Versus and Estival Versus) and of course, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.

Holy shit, you sound like you're me from the future. This is off topic, but as I am also doing research and making a wishlist relating to the prospect of purchasing a Vita, Senran Kagura is something I'm aware of. I know it's a game about ninjas with big tits, but having never played anything from this series I'm completely in the dark with what to expect. Would you or someone who knows how this shit works explain the gameplay (mechanics, etc) of Senran Kagura Estival Versus or whatever? In other words, I don't want to spend money just for tits. I want there to be some substance to go along with the plot.

Vita version gets an exclusive costume for Honoka, and PS4 an exclusive one for Marie Rose. You can get both in one game, if you buy both games.

Fortune Collector's Edition (PS4)
PS4 Game
Marie Devil Swimsuit
Extreme Sexy Costume Set F (9 Costumes)
Gravure Book - Fortune (48p)
Fortune Card
Extreme 3D Marie Rose Mouse Pad >___<

Venus Collector's Edition (Vita)
Vita Game
Honoka Angel Swimsuit
Extreme Sexy Costume Set V (9 Costumes)
Gravure Book - Venus (48p)
Venus Card
Extreme 3D Honoka Mouse Pad

If someone can provide images, I'm sure we'd all appreciate that.

As for Senran Kagura, only played the one on 3DS and the choppy framerate didn't make it as enjoyable as I would have hoped it would. Gameplay is a bit like Musou, you can mash your way through the levels unless you want a good score.

Vita games are 60 FPS (I think?) so the experience is much better. I'm a bit in the dark gameplay wise but again, I heard it's improved.

Let me see if I can summarize it for you based on my memory of the various titles.

Senran Kagura Burst (3DS) - Features the original 2 clans / schools, Hanzou and Hebi. During the gameplay, more is explained about each character's past. Side scrolling beat em up.

Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus (Vita) - Features 2 new clans / schools on top of the original 2. Beat em up similar to Dynasty Warriors.

Senran Kagura 2 (3DS) - I have the game lying somewhere, but I have yet to play it. Side scrolling beat em up.

Senran Kagura Estival Versus (PS4 and Vita) - All 4 clans are brought to an island for a festival, whereby dead female ninjas are brought back to life. Beat em up similar to Dynasty Warriors.

I believe there is another side game on the Vita platform, named Bon Appetit. Rhythm game.

In addition, I find it ironic that we are in a DOA Xtreme 3 thread, discussing about "substance to go along with the plot". :D

Getting back on topic, I heard DLCs for DOA Xtreme 3 are already out. Milking our money so soon!? T_T

I am waiting for my Japanese limited edition of DOA Xtreme 3 (Vita) to arrive from Amiami and the Asia limited edition of DOA Xtreme 3 (PS4) to be processed at Play Asia. Can hardly wait!

I don't know, man, DoAX3 is about fertile, impressionable young ladies going on vacation to play volleyball, play volleyball and not compare breast sizes. So much gameplay, so little time.

Nyotengu photo collection I took from the Vita

It really doesn't compare to the PS4 version but it runs pretty damn well on the handheld all things considered.

Do you know if the cross-save feature works if the games are from different regions? I ordered the JPN PS4 release, but am considering ordering the Asian PSVita release as well...

Oddly enough, I prefer Marie Rose to Honoka, but would rather have a Honoka oppai mousepad. ;)

Also, I've read some initial posts about how the game has less content than DOX2 - I can live w/o jet skis and water slides, but taking out the accessories as well? Considering the dress-up aspect is the main selling point of this game (you know, to enhance the T&A), that's disappointing.

I just hoped they fixed the volleyball aspect - liked it in the first game, hated it in the second.

Yeah, being able to play with your waifu anywhere is a cool bonus but you can't beat tan lines, smooth AA and fucking butt jiggles.

Fuuuuck Nyotengu's idle animation when playing volleyball is the sexiest shit ever and it looks good on vita because the camera is so far away.

Honker's is just illegal.

Well, fellas, based on all the previews I had high hopes for this game but this came out and I have to say my faith has been shaken. I mean, it's 1.5/10, you guys. Flappy bird was better than this game. I don't even know anymore. My dick tells me otherwise but that score just deflated every argument my erection could make. Instead I'm going to go play this, an endless runner type game with snowboarding, which the same reviewer claimed is a decent 3.5/10. At least I know it'll be better than some piece of shit 1.5-er. Enjoy your shit game, casuals.

tl;dr: Not as good as the previous 2 games (imo). But hey, at least it's the best T&A on the PS4.

My copy arrived in the mail today from AmiAmi, and I just finished a ~8hour game marathon. I've played through most of the girls' vacations, and my final verdict is... it's a let down.

For some context, I've played through the first 2 DOAX games, so I knew what to expect going in: a decent game that's carried on the strength of its fanservice. I liked the first game b/c of the novelty, and the second game had some neat new features (re: jet ski racing), but took some steps backwards otherwise (worse volleyball, crazy boob physics that make them bounce around like jello).

But honestly, this is just a lazy effort. Seriously. To be fair, I think the game improves upon the previous entries in 3 ways: the character models look (mostly) great, the swimsuit gifting doesn't seem to be as frustrating as in the previous 2 games (so far at least), and being able to switch between gal mode and owner mode on the fly is pretty neat.

Everything else is cut corners. Remember how in the first 2 games the shops were actually rendered in 3D - you know, w/ polygons? Well, now they're just screenshots of the old shops - very lazy. Likewise, they took out all of the accessories, so now you're only able to buy swimsuits, volleyballs, and a handful of hair-styles per girl.

As for the swimsuits themselves, I know this is subjective, but I don't think they hold a candle to the previous 2 games (the first one especially). They all feel very similar and lack any of the personality that the previous two games had (remember the Nike swimsuit?). And although I expected this, they shoehorned in some of the DLC outfits from DOA5 onto different girls (ex: Hitomi has one of Mila's swimsuits).

Furthermore, whereas the previous games had 4 volleyball courts to choose from, now there are only 2. I also noticed that during matches, the sand no longer deforms under their feet - why??? It was there in the first 2 games! I also noticed something funny w/ the shadows that your characters cast: I was playing through as Nyotengu, and her shadow was BALD! Nyotengu, w/ her long and luscious hair, casts a BALD shadow! ZOMG!!!

The pool hopping mini game seems to be a bit more fun, but the beach flag, butt battle, and rope battle mini games are pretty random - just like the mini games in DOX2. The rock climbing mini game is barely a mini game - you don't really have to be accurate w/ your button presses, and the cliff you scale clips like a bastard (rotate the camera behind it if you want your girl to be climbing air).

Another pet peeve of mine is that it feels like they went overboard w/ the suntanning mechanic - by the end of your vacation, almost all the girls look like glowing tomatoes (duck face!). And maybe I've been playing the game too long (nb: yes, I have), but the girls' faces have started to look off - the tanning really makes them stick out.

And man, the devs *really* love Marie Rose and Honoka - they're on the cover, get more pages in the (thin) artbook, and Marie Rose is the first character to pop-up during the ending credits.

So yeah, I've really ragged on the game, but hey, it's still DOAX. Even though it was (apparently) made on a shoestring budget, I still have a soft spot for the series.

But was the limited edition worth the $170 (w/ shipping) I spent on it? Hell no.

I think that wasn't the devs behind that, but more about them complying with the results of the Votes.

I was being facetious in my last post, but I've seen enough gameplay to see this isn't a $60 dollar game, especially considering how I've heard it regressed from the previous installment. I haven't been aware of how this dev operates for long, but all I'm seeing is business as usual. Cut content that's going to be fed back to players via DLC. Meanwhile, I heard the Senran Kagura dev added a free kissing your kagurafu patch to Estival Versus. A game selling feature like that, free. Remember when the Kagura dev said, "tits are life, ass is hometown" and "I'll wrap the world in happy boobs"? That nigga was dead fucking serious.
