The skill of sword-fighting is known to two tribes, the Tribes of Light (which consists of humans living on the world's surface) and Shadow (mostly part humans, part animals or monsters living in an underground city, who also seem to age at half the normal speed of the Light tribe). The two tribes lived in peace and harmony, their domains separated by the "Words Worth" tablet—a huge monolith slab erected by a guardian spirit. Although the tablet has writing on it, neither Tribe can read the text. One day, Words Worth was mysteriously destroyed by an unknown entity; its component parts scattered among the domain of the Tribes of Shadow.
The two Tribes blamed each other for the tablet's destruction, and started a war that has been on-going for 100 years.
Astral, prince of the Tribe of Shadow, desires to become a Swordsman of Shadow but his father, King Wortoshika, forbids him to do so. He is engaged to Sharon, a beautiful swordswoman who generally like Astral but wishes he was stronger.
The story begins here...
The game's story is linear, with only one story decision near the end, leading to one of five different endings.

How to make Words Worth Win98 version work under XP: wrote...
Create a shortcut for ww_english.exe. In the shortcut properties, activate Win98 compatibility, otherwise game crashes when first voice playback occurs. Double click on the shortcut to get started.
When you start game, you are asked to choose hero's name. DON'T CHANGE IT! Otherwise hero's lines won't be translated. Just validate the default one (Astro, translated) by clicking the bottom right button immediately (A message will say so).
During game, 'M' (or '?') will make a map appear (useful!). Just click on map to automatically run to a precise place. 'I' will make the inventory list appear (can use herb fast!). 'C' will make the command menu appear.
Items names are part of item graphics, so they won't be translated. In translated text, the japanese name will be written between parenthesis so you can make the link with the graphic japanese description (if needed only).

PS - Old game is old, have fun pointing and laughing at the primitive 3D graphics. But it's pretty impressive for an old game~
PS2 - Lol'd at the katakana of Words worth, reminded me of Crown Clown for some reason =P
[size=3]I'm yet to go beyond the 1st dungeon level. Won't be able to help you guys out with gameplay[/h]

The game was more interesting, since Astral wasn't a such "kid" as much as in the anime, and even the character design for Astral is different.

Got a strange problem......
When Astro is trying to talk to his father at the really start of the game, it looks like it should have a cutscene, but what I got is the typical error message for Win XP......

yes it works for vista but is it meant to be that jumpy and is there a way to put it into a window version instead of full screen.

Just played it through.
Nice upload.
Instead of a translation, I would call this a rewrite with the main story intact.
Based on the voices, roughly 90% of the text doesn't correspond with the audio and I think about half is totally off, not even near what they say. . .
Maybe the group haven't finished it or no playtesting was done. I was already warned the pics with jap text wasn't translated, there were alot . . .
