Until now, the Japanese government has managed to keep the mass media from exposing the fact that the future of humankind hangs in the balance ... that people are being reborn as a new, evolved form of life. Exactly what triggered the birth of this creature known as "Evolution" is unclear...
Kazuya Fuwa, a less-than-perfect university student, and his childhood friend Amane Saionji were leading perfectly happy ordinary lives. But beneath the peaceful surface of their town, Evolution was waiting...
Gameplay :
Novel part -
During the core component of the game, the story-based adventure part, you will be offered many different choices, and your decisions will dictate how the story develops. Each heroine has her own unique story and ending. We don’t want to give away any of the details of the plot, but be sure to pay attention to your relationship with each of the heroines when you’re making any decision!
Battle part -
As you proceed through the novel part of the game, you will repeatedly encounter a powerful opponent called “Evolution,” whom you must fight. With a few exceptions, battle scenes take place in the strategy component of the game. The fate of the hero and heroines lies in your hands; do your best to lead them to victory.

no, the battle is more like utawarerumono, all of them are pre-determined. So, plan your leveling up carefully.

As Kaimax posted earlier, you should plan your levelling carefully.
I think you'll have to replay this, and level Kazuya up more than others from the beginning.
Level up tip: Keep points in HP, Offense, Technique and Mobility, defense and healing are not all that important. With enough offense points you will be able to get hits. Also use paralysis attack to push enemies back in the ATB.
