FFVII Question

never crossed my mind, i always thought they were touching the ground

Nothing i noticed, but it's not impossible that the models are floating over the ground, it's not something uncommon.

i assume that their feet are touching the ground since the game isn't based in free space

feespace is where you can run around and arn't bound by any sort of restriction. during the battle sequence in FFVII, im pretty sure that it runs on an XYZ grid rather than freespace. when on a grid, you can place a model right next to another (ie feet and ground).

But then again, even though I have FFVII, that they are floating, its a relatively old game.

But Squarsoft wouldn't miss such a detail

Sorry to steal the thread but ive got a question of my own.

Why does my game pretty much freeze when an enemy uses beam gun. He just stands there and fidgets. Im playing on ps2 but ive never heard of this happening.

Your game is fucked up, maybe? Is the CD cracked or scratched? Is your PS2 dirty?

Nah disc is fine so it must be the ps2. I had a similar problem with another game but it was minor. Damn, guess im never gonna be able to play till the remake lol.

Is there any way to clean my PS2?

You can either buy one of those discs with little brushes on it to clean the lense or you can open up the ps2 and use a can of air spray.

Or your ps2 might be breaking down and you'll eventually get the disc read error all the time.

If i can ever make it any farther in the game i wanna try and see if its just that area that makes it happen. Until then thanks for the advice. Square, please make a version that i can actually play ive heard all the hype so let me play!

With the right settings it should potentially look a lot better than the PC version. You'll just need to locate a PS2 bios which I'll leave up to you (and Google). Note that there's a help section on the ePSXe website in case you get stuck with anything.
