Hmmm.... there isnt really much difference in japanese mahjong and chinese mahjong... i have been using knowledge of chinese mahjong to play japanese mahjong for the longest time for as long as i can remember... the only thing that i did not figure out is the score for the japanese mahjong.... or maybe its because i never really go learn... but being a chinese playing mahjong with family is quite elementary...

but what is the difference between those two ?They're technically the same, but the 2gb one is a Dummy Cut version, this means a version where all the junk data is removed.
Sometimes a game company will make it with the junk data, just to make it a full DVD.

the junk data...is it really just some useless data, or some hidden extras too? if it's just junk...2gb it is. no point in downloading 5gb extra junk.

i think it's because u don't have enough yaku. Basically your hand is below the minimum requirement to be able to win (the points are too low). You should go check it out, in chinese mahjong there's "fan" points right? This is sorta like that but for japanese mahjong.

^ most likely that
brieftly: point system is based on difficulty of your hand, ie, if you get all of 1 type of tile (circles) it's worth more than mixing 2 types becuase it is statistically harder to get. think of it like poker, 4 of a kind > 2 pair kind of deal
relating that to mahjong you have straights mixed with 3 of a kinds, which i assume you just picked up whatever you could get making it easier than holding out longer and collecting harder to get combinations of tiles
i only play chinese mahjong but rule of thumb for that is, never mix straights with 2 types of tiles. 3 of a kind is safe to mix with any tile type

Ohhh... i see.. i did not expect this game need to have yaku... or fan in chinese like you say it.... because there is no flower.... or the animals... but i guess that is the japanese rule... than i guess i know what to do already... now i wonder if this game have the furiten rule...
