When I finally got a computer, Duke Nukem 3D and Quake II set to low graphics. FFS. I've still got that computer too. It's running 98SE on a 200mhz CPU. (hugs it)

My first memories of playing video games are on the Atari 2600. Specifically, I remember Fishing Derby and Pitfall pretty well.
The first game that really had a big impact on me, however, was Illusion of Gaia for the SNES. I beat this game at about the age of 6. The song that plays in the starting town is one of my favorite video game songs of all time. I play it on the piano almost every day.
Of course I have to mention Pokemon. ;) I was also one of the kids swept up in the craze.
Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Tactics were my two first games for PS1. I beat the latter when I was about 10, but I couldn't get past the end of the 2nd disc of FFVII because it was damaged. I finally got another copy of this game last year, and beat it. I loved both of these games a lot.
Armored Core...! Yes, I've been playing this series ever since the demo of the first game. It was included on a sampler disc that came with my PS1. My favorite game in the entire series was Master of Arena. I was 11 or 12 when I got MoA, but I always found the last stage impossibly hard. (Well, to settle my history with this game, I did go back and beat it last year.)
And finally:
Super Smash Brothers Melee!
I never had a N64, but I played the first game with my friends almost every day, so I've been with this series from the start. I saved this one for last, because it is not only my favorite game, but also the game in which I have put the most amount of time into. I have easily put over 1000 hours into this game. (I stopped counting, so I have no good estimate.) I bought a Gamecube just for this game. It's the only game I've ever liked enough to play competitively.

for me, one of the oldest games i remember playing was "A Boy and His Blob" on the NES XD rep goes to whoever can tell me how you played with Blobert :P
Other than that, for the most part i grew up playing the NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis. Games i played most on the NES were Duck Hunt, Mario Bros.(1 and 3 mostly), Paper Boy, and Track and Field. On the SNES was Super Mario, Mario Paint, Tetris Attack, and Bubsy. On the Genesis was Sonic(1,2,3 & Sonic and Knuckles), Jungle Strike, Tale Spin, Duck tales: Adventure(the one where Donald uses plungers as a ammo), And Cool Spot.

I played all of those NES/SNES games quite a bit as well. A boy and his blob was awesome. I don't remember what jelly beans did what, but I remember a bunch of the stuff you could turn him into with them. And track and Field was 10x better of a work out then ddr or similar games ever will be. If you can continuously win at track and field for half an hour, you were a damn healthy kid.

The first game that I played that I really loved was probably Dragon Quest 3. I still have and play that game today and it's pretty much the whole reason I like RPGs so much. My favorite games were probably Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 4 and 6 though. Wild ARMs was pretty awesome two. Another of my favorites was Terranigma and it's sequel Illusion of Gaia, those two are still high up on my list of favorite games of all time. Also, Super Metroid was absolutely amazing and is to this day the only non-RPG that I consider one of my top 10 favorites

I used to play alot of NES games like Faxanadu, Wizerds&Warriors, the ledgend of zelda and TMNT 3.
Didn't you play with the blob in "the boy and the blob" by giving it jellybeens that turned it into different objects such as a hole in the floor a ladder, and an umbrela among other things. I never got bast the first level but i remember there were alot of different kinds of jellybeens like strawberry vannelia and root beer.

But Chrono Trigger
The Legend of Zelda
TMNT (1/2/3, Turtles in Time, Tournament Fighters)
Legend of Mystical Ninja
Joe & Mac
So many more that would take a page+ to name.
