...Hell, might as well install steam and get it over with.

I was going to avoid this for as long as I could, too. Right up until I finished putting together a good PC and bought TF2...again.
But, someone just forwarded me some silly offer involving my old Nvdia card, and hell.
Free HL2 Deathmatch is Free HL2 Deathmatch.

What's wrong with Steam? I find it to be a great medium for developers to get their games out to gamers with less cost from publishers. Sure, there are a few spots where it's a little rough, but it's getting better every day.

I'm a compulsive buyer, so I'm worried about having so many games right at my fingertips.
Normally, bright sunlight keeps me away from gaming stores. If I can get at them away from the light, I'm worried about spending money I shouldn't have.

I can see where you're coming from. I've bought games off of there before that I regretted buying afterwords.

...So, is there anything worth buying on Steam, besides the Orange Box?
I've got work starting up in a few days, so I should have some leisure money by Saturday.

btw there is a way to get all steam games without paying, but only the mini-games work so in other words kinda useless. Other than the orange box, nothing is really worth. Cod4 if u haven got it for consoles.

Sure, Steam still has some kinks to work out, but it's still great overall. I just wish it didn't take up so much space on its own.

one thing i really hate about steam is: when u uninstall steam... all the games get uninstalled too. what a bitch.

other than the orange box it really depends on your tastes. i like Counter Strike: Source and Day of Defeat:source but yuo might not. you pretty much just gotta go looking.

I'm a compulsive buyer. I have lots of games off of Steam; I have so many, in fact, that I need two screen shots to show you.

I can't say what you should get, but I can warn you away from one game.

im not 100% sure which time period its in but its a old style game(like WWII) that is a bit difficult to get used to.

It's a WWII Realistic FPS that takes place on the Russian/German battlefront. It's one of the best realistic FPSs I've ever played, but, as stated already, it does take some getting used to if you're not used to realism (i.e. manually pulling the bolt on your rifle, not knowing how many bullets are in your gun, etc.).
