I'm wary of new games and new systems.

I'm gonna wait a while to get a PS4. Even if it means I'm falling behind, I'll wait a while so they can work out all the bugs in the system... and by that time, I'll be able to get one with more memory and shit.

By the way, is PS4 backwards compatible? I have a shitload of PS3 games that I love and if I can't play them on a PS4, I'm gonna be pissed.

No, PS4 cannot play PS3 games. They are working on a way of streaming them but i assume that's not what you mean.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure you can't. No current generation console be it Xbone, or PS4 are reverse compatible.

Well I got PS4 on release mainly cause I had the money saved since June and really wanted one I guess lol. None are BC, but Sony is working on their PSNow which will be a rental service. I also heard they are working on maybe a emulator download for an update to play previous systems like PS2 and PS1, but not sure if they will do for PS3.

I mean really depends on the games you want. Really towards end of this year and beginning of next you will see less big named or even indie games going to the PS3 or Xbox 360 and instead just be released only next gen. So unless something appeals to you now then I would wait...though I didn't XD.

Honestly, don't go for a PS4 yet. Wait another year or so, at least until Bloodborne and other good-looking exclusives releases. In the meantime, if you really want a new system, Wii U is the way to go. Got good games already, and getting even more games soon.

I never buy a new next gen system right off the bat. Too many issues, expensive as hell and no games. So you are better off waiting a while, its seriously not like you're missing out on anything.

Anyways, I'm waiting on the PS4 myself. I don't really care about backward compatibility though. Let's be real... how many systems do some of you have hooked up right now? I'd be kind of surprised if there's just one. All PS3's can still do PSX games, and it's a BD player. Mine is definitely not going anywhere when I get a PS4. And if connections are an issue, just look into some good HDMI splitters or something. I've got a PS2, PS3, DVD player, Wii U, 360, and my PC dual monitoring all connected to my TV at once right now.

Have to agree on Wii U being good system at the given time(I dont consider it amazing). More games than others and mainly for Rule 34 material what E3 showed us. Still will not buy a Wii U cause none of the games actually tickle my fun part of the brain. If they made a steampunk LoZ, id buy the system.

But build a PC rig. The Plug'n'Play aspect is lost. You still have to sit behind a console and wait for patches and updates. Just like PC. But you cannot pirate games to test them out.

Not so much weary of new consoles, but I don't have the cash for them at the moment and if I don't see any good games for a system then it's not a priority for me to get until they become more appealing to me. Gonna side with Art on this, I don't own the Wii U yet, but that will probably be the a system I will own before any others.

I still can't believe backward compatibility is still not a standard among all the consoles. It's bullshit that I have to pull out or track old systems to play older games.

I am really shocked with that too, but my only guess is adding it requires them to charge more ie. PS3 was 600 dollars in the US cause it was BC. So my only guess is companies find it pointless to add if people complain about the price for the first year and that is when they drop the BC.

Tbh the only system that I'm really interested in right now is the Wii U, and mainly cause of the upcoming Splatoon, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2 (it apparently even comes with the original), the upcoming Zelda and Metroid games. PS4 I might get for Bloodborne. Xbone does everything you can on PC, except worse. If you're going to get a next gen console other than the Wii U, you might as well just build a PC and hook it up to a tv screen.

If anything right now building a pc is probably the best bet. The Steam Summer sale just ended, you probably could build one through black Friday sales in time for the Steam Winter sales.

Don't buy a ps4 or a console for that matter. Join the PC MASTER RACE!!!

Or mostly any moba or mmo out there
