is this true?

I believe there was a topic just like this one, though I'm not completely sure. Anyway, you've posted an image of a unusual "PSP" and asked "is this true? Will Sony win over nintendo this time?". Don't take it personally, at all, but I believe it'd be a bit more nice if you were more specific. Maybe it'd help others know exactly what you're asking.
Anyway, it's my guess that you're wondering if the image is real and, if so, will it be capable of putting Sony ahead of nintendo. I highly doubt that the image is real. There's been several designs of the PSP that people have come up with, none which were real.
Plus the sony website has nothing about that on it.

But assuming it was real, maybe it could help the PSP beat the DS. (Sony top Nintendo)
I sorta doubt it though, I mean, that things just like the normal DS but now it has two parts to it... but not two screens... or anything extra. It looks like it'd make the PSP annoying. What would be the point? Really? Lol.

i have to say i agree with elder, need more info on what your asking is true. if your wonder ing about the design on that psp i believe it is something they are going to be coming out with in the next two years or so. reason being, i was watching attack of the show on g4 last week and there was something about a gaming convention ( not e3 but something like that in japan i think) but anyway sony had a both set up and one of the items at the both was a psp with that design. so i think that is going to be the next gen. of the psp. like nintendos ds lite and dsi.
edit: completly forgot this till after i posted, but in the little story on it they said that all the games for it were going to be digital download or something like that.

all i know is that if sony is gonna make an upgraded psp, they better add a second analog stick. this sole feature would destroy the competition in my opinion, it could add intuitive controls to first and third person game play as the ps3 controller does. this concept looks really sweet though, huge screen and everything. but with newer models come newer countermeasures to hacking :( i know id be broke if i hadnt hacked by 2000.

I gotta say that pic does look kinda fake and if Sony do create it they still won't be able to overtake Nintendo with their handhelds.

The only thing i can say is that there is a PSP2 in production...that won't have UMD. But thats the only thing I know.

There is quite possible a new PSP coming out, but analysts think they are trying to make it emulate the DS and iPhone by giving it a touch screen; if that is true and they are emulating something that already exists leads me to believe that it will further slip behind the DS, and possibly even the iPhone will pass it in popularity.

As long as Sony market it solely as a console and don't do an Ngage, I think they'll be fine. :P
As far as copying technology, they already got away with Sixaxis to an extent, but they got ripped for that and I think anything else would be pushing it. That said, Microsoft has recently patented some motion-sensing tech, among other things...

Yeah rumors are that both Microsoft and Sony might show a new motion control device similar to the Wiimote. I hope that isn't true. I bought a 360 to get away from my gimmicky Wii. <.<
Okay, I gotta add onto that or I'm gonna get blasted with hate. It isn't that I hate my Wii, it just isn't really my style. I'm all about FPS/TPS and RPGs, none of which are in particular abundance on the Wii.

Going to have to wait for e3 on June 1st to see if it is real or not. There is also rumors of M$ making a portable console to.

We have blue on Windows, red on the X360... maybe it will be green this time?

Don't know if anyone has posted these yet elsewhere, but this 'PSP Go' looks like the real deal.

Until, Sony puts out an article saying that PSP go is legit, I will stay skeptical. However as a PSP fanboy, I'm going nuts thinking of the possibilities that a new PSP would offer.
1. FINALLY A GOOD SONY WIFI NETWORK!
2. Bigger screen
3. With a new handheld, comes new games.
<---- this fanboy is extremely happy.

http://kotaku.com/5273208/rumor-qore-lets-slip-the-first-look-at-psp-go

GamersConsoleNetwork scored a big scoop this morning, pulling the first images of the PSP Go (running LittleBigPlanet) out of the latest edition of Qore, which apparently went live early.
On top of that, someone managed to film the video and place it on YouTube. That's below (with bad audio).
The video reveals Sony's plans for new PSP games, offers up hardware specs and when gamers will be able to get their hands on the PSP Go. Highlights include:
†¢ Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Jak & Daxter and Metal Gear Solid are all either confirmed or mentioned.
†¢ The Go's 16 gigs of flash memory and bluetooth support ("You can also tether it to your cell phone,") are touted.
†¢ In discussing the PSP Go's video-playing capability, it sounds like the rental service through PSN will extend to the PSP Go.
†¢ PSP Go will not replace the PSP-3000; the 3000 will still be kept on the market.
†¢ The PSP Go will arrive this fall.
†¢ It's 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000
†¢ It has a 3.8-inch screen
So, there's your garden-variety pre-E3 leak/rumor/big splash. Just the facts for now. Thanks to the dozens of tipsters who saw this and alerted us.

On the PS3 network they put out next months issue of that little mag. That's how I knew it was real. They took it down a day later though.
