Killer Is Dead [Suda51]

Grasshopper Manufactures is quickly becoming my favorite development team next to Platinum games

[color=#006FFF]So a lot more screens have been released (find link below) and they give us a very nice look at one of the ladies in the Gigolo Mode.

Also, is it just me or did anyone else immediately think of Anne Hathaway when they saw the first woman in the trailer? This is probably my most anticipated game so far. It's looking great.

I was getting more of a solid reminder of the "Injection Fairy Lily" from Yu-gi-oh when she was riding on her needle.

So before this trailer I was iffy on this game. Now I'm more inclined to watch how it turns out and consider it for a purchase.

[color=#006FFF]KID TV 2's been released and this one's a bit more interesting (as someone who doesn't understand Japanese) since it shows a lot of new gameplay. Plus it features Suda51 and Yoshimi Yasuda, the executive director and producer respectively. There's one or two short clips toward the start but you can find a large dose of gameplay @5:20. They also give us a peak at Betty, the mystery lady in one of the earlier released screens, at the end (at about 8:00).



[color=#006FFF]Something I noticed back in the second trailer for the game is a lot more apparent with Betty in this and that's the impressive animations on hair in the game. Vivian's hair in the second trailer stood out to me a bit but it's a lot more noticeable when Betty turns to face you. I'm loving this graphic style more with each trailer.

"Mondo,What are you doing?"

[color=#006FFF]We've been given some nice details, and many images, about a new Episode featuring the idea of "Mondo on a motorcycle fighting a samurai riding a tiger" that Suda mentioned once in an interview.



[color=#006FFF]You can find more details on the samurai, Hamadayama, and a number of screenshots (some of which I'll share here) at the source.

Hamadayama's tiger-stand is looking pretty badass.


[color=#006FFF]Mondo's arm looks like some Beam Samus would have Metroid Prime here. I like it.

Killer Is Dead’s Premium DLC Features Vampires And Unicorns

You had me at "vampires".

[color=#006FFF]Prepare yourself for the best trailer yet. I want this freaking game so bad. It looks so great!

So what does everyone think of "Episode 51"?


Since it's not very spoiler-y at all, but holds the "51" title, I think it's either
1. Suda trying to be cute
2. Suda implying he wants this story to continue on like a real series (which would explain the ending)
3. Just there to throw a bone to the fans of the game who didn't like the semi-downer ending (I don't even know what to make of the ending to even really call it that).

Having recently played this game to death (and finally getting its badass platinum last week), I can only agree with you on the point Episdoe 51 was more of an alternative ending to the actual one to appease to the fans, though I just wished it was explained further why Mondo ended up the way he did at the end, but we'll never know...

All in all, I still loved Killer Is Dead, the visuals were different from anything I've played and I loved the soundtrack, and while the quirkiness of Suda's imagination was pretty strong in this game, my only complaint was the WTH ending which kind of ruins the awesomeness of Mondo who kind of grew on me. It gets a 7 out of ten for me for enjoyment, sound, visuals and the extras, an exceptional game to play just for the fun of it.
