Knights in the Nightmare

Another unique-looking JRPG by the developers at Sting for the Nintendo DS. Atlus has confirmed that it will release the game in North America on June 2, provided there aren't any delays. I've thoroughly enjoyed quite a bit of Sting's work, including Riviera and Yggdra Union so I hope "Dept. Heaven Episode IV" lives up to its predecessors.

The picture certainly looks pretty, but that's not much to work with. :?My apologies. I got excited since the release date isn't that far away, and rather quickly created this thread to boost awareness. I've now added a couple of videos. Fun, fun.

I had to stare at that second video a long time before I understood what the hell was going on :? I don't think this is my kind of game.

The very very first thing I did was turn that picture into a wallpaper immediately. And read that JRPG I became excited. Then the gameplay video makes me go hmm? That white light must've been that black pointer stick moving across the screen.... I'd rather use the dpad. Well I'll be awaiting until may something to check for updates.

Damn, this game doesn't fuck around, I just got mine in the mail today, haven't even played it yet, but damn.
That's a game, a soundtrack with 39 songs, and a 95 page art/character book all for $33.99
The best part of all this was that I had no idea I was getting the soundtrack OR the art book. They were a total surprise. I am giddy. Now I'm off to play~

I played the first few chapters... well, after the loooong tutorial, i am still a bit confused on the gameplay, but it has a hmmm, innovative use of the touch screen, well, for me at least. All i can say is that it took a long time before i can look at the no-touch screen instead of the touch screen...*sigh*

It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. Or rather, I didn't expect the bullets to be this intense this early in the game.
Also, anyone else have trouble where they keep accidentally activating units they don't mean to and wasting time?

I did in the beginning but that is why you "hide" by holding L or R. Basically hiding lets you do nothing but move the wisp around but you take half damage from bullets, perfect way to get to your weapons and not activate a unit by mistake.
I've played this for a good 5-10 hours reseted a few times since I missed items for new characters and just for the heck of it. Funny enough I spent 2 hours reading the tutorial when I briefly skimmed the book and understood more from that. Glad I understand about 90% of the game now, though still quite a few things I need to know and/or test out.
Love this game and can't wait till my school is over to really play this game (after this coming sun.).

Pretty fun game, though rather complex. I'm not too far, but I'm enjoying it so far.
Sort of hard to get attached to your knights though, since there are so many of them, and they're so interchangeable.

Ah, liking this game right now, and I like that Atlus really went overboard with their spoils. Hope they do the same for Persona, but anyway.
Yes, what was said before I'll repeat because its important: Read the handbook. It, in conjunction with the tutorial, will save you a lot of grief

Fuck. Beat the game. Got the Bad End. Wound up retrying seven times throughout the game (in Normal mode). The final boss was an uber-bastard. There were actually turns when I didn't even get an attack in. Fuck. Now I'm going to take a much-deserved break by playing easy games before getting back to it to get the Good End.
