DAMN!
THIS IS A-FUKKEN-MASTERPIECE
Just played it(actually, it was yesterday but fakku was down or something well whatever; and yes, piracy is bad but hey, i pre-paid for it, might as well see what i bought)
And the funny thing is, of all games Noire resemble Phoenix Wright series the most.(And Shenmue a little) I'm not kidding. You actually can turn off action scenes(fighting, shootout, car chases) And here you go, it's a next-gen realistic Ace Attorney + Investigations! Plays awesome though, haven't felt like this for a long time.
You have to actually THINK to play successfully. Oh-hoh-how, i already can see fat kids crying in frustration, because their tiny brains refuse to work! :D
Anyway, this game is awesome, definitely a "must have"!
P.S. Makes me kinda wonder, what were Sony thinking when they fired whole Getaway developers crew? Oh well, now we have Team Bondi!

I had to either pick up Brink, or this game, im definitely going to pick it up though, after the huge success of Red Dead Redemption.

Wait... this game has a strong enough mystery/narrative that it can rely soley on that to carry the game? I'm now a good deal more interested in picking this up once I get the funds.

Been waiting for this one, gonna give it a try as soon as i can.
Only negative thing i've heard about it thus far is that it's too short, which is a shame.

I don't see why those codes would have an expiration date. It's not like you're getting a discount on priced items. The codes just unlock DLC that have been put aside for the people that have access to said codes. Hell, there are still people selling Mass Effect 2 pre-order DLC cards over ebay.

I've heard that the shooting mechanics are a bit of a let-down, but otherwise, it looks stunning. Shame it isn't on PC yet; full HD would be sweet as.

I was really excited about this game. It looked amazing and so different.
Unfortunately, it's a bit of a let down. Before you flame me, at least read what I have to say.
The face-caption software is truly amazing. Seriously an awesome idea to make a game with, and brilliantly created. It has a couple drawbacks. First off, when you look closely at evidence, it gets really pixelated. The second thing is to use this software correctly, you need to study how people act under the circumstances that the person speaking is under.
The gameplay just doesn't hone up to the software it's using. I'm not saying it's a failure of a game. It's not. For the first game using this tech it did damn good.
The "Doubt, Lie, Truth" system is shit. Like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, you never know what you're actually going to say with the choice you pick.
Which is a HUGE problem with interrogation. Your main character always seems hell-bent on a conviction. Even if you don't see it that way. Which is usually because the person you just talked to was obviously lying but apparently he/she was just being played by a shitty actor/actress or one that didn't know the part too well.
I could go on, but I'll stop here.
All-in-all, I complain but I'm still playing it.
It's not a bad game, even though some parts will piss you the fuck off.
And for your incentive, I hated Red Dead, and this plays A LOT like it.
I recommend at least trying this game. It's different and that says a lot these days.
.....Aaaaaaaand, let the flame begin.

Doesn't that seem to be the problem with most story-driven games? There can be a shit ton of things to do in the game, but the actual story takes, like, 2-4 hours to finish.

I saw someone play this at my local arcade [long story short, this arcade has ps3's and xbox 360's set up on a play per hour kind of thing]. From what I saw, it's amazing. I was only there to get a inventory list but I kinda got distracted. Definitely something I wouldn't mind buying.
From what I understand for the 3 disc thing on the xbox it's mostly because of the facial tech used in the game. It'd be impossible to cram all the facial data into one disc for the xbox. This is pretty much Rockstar's version of heavy rain
