Riven's shaping up to be pretty fricken bad thus far, shame. Too squishy to poke efficiently early game. if built tanky, not enough damage to do her job, if built dps, you best play her like an assassin and pray you don't cc'd to hell. Welp, get sheen and use that in conjunction with her passive for some ok damage...
Her base damage is pretty low, sheen isn't that much of a boost i've seen/

I wouldn't suggest putting sheen/trinity force on Riven, just stick with raw AD.
edit: I imagine something like
Wriggles, Merc Treads, Brutalizer, Frozen Mallet, Blood Thirster, and Youmuu's/survival item.
would work.

It seems that more sucessful Rivens tend to build her tanky, often using Atmas with various +hp items.

She's very hard to play because she needs both hp and dmg.
I'm using 2 builds (because i really like her, her story, her look and her skills, so I WILL PLAY HER)
Doran blade > Lucidity > Black clever > frozen malet > bloodthirst >infinity
Doran > Warmog (can buy heart of gold before warmog) > atma > black clever > bloodthirst > infinity
Atm. she's very hard to play because of that hp and dmg... I hope they'll fix it.
Ok both builds aren't good enough.
Best build I do (and with which I succeed (maybe its just lucky, but i hope not))
Doran Blade > Lucidity (wanna test swiftness) > BF >Black clever >BF > BF> BF/Giant > Bf/giant (what we didn't purchase before)
Now you need to think if you need more survi go frozen malet if not stack infinity (It IS working att + crit. and doesnt loose 20 ad after death) Best idea when building her atm is to stack as much ad as u need. I take ghost and cleanse.

I'm just gonna stop playing until they fix Morderkaiesr. I've played a few games with him, did alright but he's just so much worse now that they've fucked him up.

His early game was nerfed, but just play more defensive and keep farming and you can still bully the whole opposing team in fights, later.
