Left 4 Dead 2 Problems (PC)

Ok so everytime i get on L4d2 it works just fine.
But when i either get on Multi player or on single player game mode it goes to the loading screen and loads jsut find but when it finally loads it crashes.
Like my screen will flash a few times and if i let it flash my computer does the auto shutdown.
Now i have Win7 and im pretty sure my drivers are up to date.
But is there a way i can check if they are?
And does anyone have the simpler problem and had it fixed.
Any Answers will help! :)

Try going onto the graphics card manufacturer website, they even have a auto detect function on some manufacturer sites, after that try hosting the game from the local server instead of a 3rd party server, it might be your router or firewall settings prevent the game from allowing you to join their servers.
The only other thing I'd ask is does the problem persist on other multiplayer games if not it'll defo be something game/setting specific.
Hope that helps ~

Well i have a Toshiba labtop and it has no new crap in it just the same old shit it came with.
But it will happen with i play single player or try hosting a game. i think it im not mistaken i can join and online game. but idk since i havae not tried in a while cause the severs are shit and you like like a bitch! D:
BUT as we speck the game is re downloading for the 3rd time and i even fully deleted so all my games i had are re downloading,
i mean when i play Left 4 Dead 1 everything works fine not a single problem really.
But when i Play L4D2 or alien swarm i either host or play single player and it loads all the way and when its done it will freeze and then start the flashing. >.

Yeh in that case it sounds like a driver issue, I'll presume your using steam as you mentioned Alien swarm there is an option called "Steam" then "Check for video driver updates" try that ?

Well yea im using Steam! :)
Cause i hate the xBox360 and i only have a ps3.
BUT ANYWAYS!
Where can i find this Check driver update? would it be on steam on on the dessktop icon? :o

Ouch, that sucks, yeh it was in the steam program itself when it was opened, well it's an integrated graphics card so it makes sense I guess that it would take us to that site, strange however that it takes you to a page that doesn't exist.
Can you find out the model of your laptop, then search for the specifications of that laptop online, once you do that the card should be listed and then you can do a search for those drivers, how old is the laptop, I'm just wondering if it might not be able to handle the games, has it always done this ?

Hmm Ill Post everything about the laptop.
I trust you wont do anything to harm it! x3
But surely it can handle that l4d game. i handles anything else just As And L4d2 Are Crashing.
So let me see if i got this right..
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R)CPU 900 @2.20GHz 2.19GHz
Installed memory(RAM): 3.00 GB (2.87 GB usable)
System type: 32-bit Operating System
And its a Toshiba btw.
If this do not help at all..then where could i possibly find the thing you need?
sorry im not the best computer genius around! xD
And thats all i see on there beside my rating and crap.
lol so does that help at all?

well we know from what you've posted so far that your CPU and Memory can handle the game, but we need to know what the graphics card is, if the computer has 3gig of ram though from purchase it's probably pretty safe to say that the graphics card should be able to handle l4d2 or alien storm even on the lowest settings...

Intel integrated graphics card (with laptop chipset at that) is definitely not for gaming.
Keep in mind that the original L4D used older engine while both L4D2 and Alien Swarm use Valve's newer engines. Your graphics card probably won't be able to run it smoothly in any case. It was the same with my desktop intel chipset; I would get stable 30< frames in L4D while L4D2 was basically a slideshow.
Back to the topic, RAM is enough while CPU probably pass over bare minimum. The problem might be the softwares such as DirectX, PhysX, etc, or it could be the video card itself, although I don't think that's the case here. Make sure the softwares are updated. Is the problem happening only on the later Valve games or does the same thing occur on other newer games?
Edit:
Laptops with 3 gigs is placed in low-mid quartile for gaming purposes. Trying to play any games after 2006~07 with any integrated chipsets (unless they are of Radeon or Geforce) would probably result in really, REALLY laggy gameplay (speaking from experience)

Well on L4D i do not lag one bit.
But when i played L4D2 it was a Lagging Hell fest.
So do you think that i need to buy a new graphics card or what? :(

i see that you mentioned the software needs to be up to date.
Where can i check this?
i dont all the updates that come with the windows update thing.
Is there liek a website that i could possibly find what out of date on my laaptop or what not?

Try looking into getting the latest DirectX version off Microsoft's website, that might help a little.

Damn, in that case unless it was the graphics card drivers that was the issue I'm not to sure what I could say other than maybe it really is the fact that your graphics card can't handle the game ? :S

Unless you have one of those increasingly uncommon laptops that have space for a gpu, then you're out of luck as most times laptops with chipsets don't have the capacity for a gpu.
However...I'll just leave this here
http://www.villageinstruments.com/tiki-index.php?page=ViDock
also on the note of source engine games, try running it in DX8 mode if you haven't already. It'll dock down the graphics again quite a bit, but on most source engine games it'll be enough to make it playable on a chipset. In steam just add "-dxlevel 81" (minus quotes) to the launch options

Some how i fixed it?
I was messing around with the settings and i put EVERYTHING on low
and the changed it from widescreen to full.
Think the widescreen could have been the problem all along?
i mean im sure my vid card probably could not have handled it and i cuase putting it on full make it even out?
i mean sure i still have the lag here and there and its nothing like the smooth game play on L4D but hey beggers cant be choosers.
