Legend of Zelda The Epic

I don't know about you guys but after watching the time line thing about LoZ it kind of makes me wonder. Would it be a good idea to make one LoZ game to end all LoZ games?
Think about it, the Avg LoZ Game takes a decent amount of time to complete(If you are playing for the story anyways) Why not make a LoZ Game that starts with the beginnings and ends with the completion of the legend. Going through each storyline of each game A game that would take a person a good year to speed through. I'm talking an Epic Saga of a Game. One that would have to be put on 5+ game disk.
Would you play it?

I think if a game is too long, it'll be unappealing. I, for instance, wouldn't want to play a game that would take a year to complete. It might be different if the game were played in chapters, and I could play a few chapters, then stop for a month or two, then start playing again without feeling lost. I love playing games, especially Zelda games, but I've never spent a whole year on one single game. Hell, I've never spent six months on one single game.
Besides, if there was one game that went through the whole storyline, wouldn't a lot of that just be remaking the other games? Or are you talking about something different?

If it involved just going through all the other games (Which i've already completed) then probably no.

There's one major problem with making a game that stretches all the way out from one end of the timeline to the other. They sort of already made it. Remember that special collection thing that was released on the Gamecube a while back?
Although, a good idea would be if they wanted to make the END of LoZ (And I mean the absolute end, no more sequels, EVER), they could do a game where "Link" has to kill Ganondorf or the spirit of evil or something by chasing it down through his various incarnations, then taking the more nostalgic levels from the previous games (Ex. The dark world, the map from the original) and making them in glorious 3d. So then you could tie all the games together in one epic celebration of the series' history while (hopefully) completing an epic storyline.
Just my opinion though. :P

That doesn't sound too bad at all. Though seriously after seeing the time line I was quite surprised. Also I thought that an Ending to the series wouldn't be bad at all. Even if it's only an ending in the story they could always release other games in between the others. I don't know if anyone feels the same but when I played Wind waker I didn't like it untill I actually got to the sunken Castle and got into the room with all the Glass windows representing all of the sages. Once I was inside that room I was like WOW so it is a sequel to Ocarina. I remember it so clearly since I was playing with a friend and I was telling him since the story at the beginning made allusion to Ocarina of time and he was telling me it was pretty unlikely. Anyways I'd really like an ending to the series to be honest. Although doing a remake of the series in a 5 cd game or more is a bit too much. I've played all of the Zelda games except Ages and Seasons. A game being in 8 bit or being new gen it really doesn't bother me at all since the story is so good.

What I've always loved about the Zelda series has been the gameplay, and not necessarily the plot. I mean, I like the plot, but they're still fun games to play, even if the plot sucks. So, if they ended the story of the Zelda series, it wouldn't really hurt anything, in my opinion. They could just create a different universe, with Link and Ganon and Zelda, but with a different backstory of the world, different creatures, whatever. Hell, that's what I thought they were doing a lot of the time! If I hadn't watched that timeline thing, there's no way I ever would have connected all those games together.
