Matchmaking
0
Matchmaking has come a long way in recent years. Host Migration seems to be one of the latest and greatest innovations to the system. Nothing quite as annoying as playing a Modern Warfare or World at War match and the host dropping out for one reason or another (usually related to losing, heh.)
That said, I really, really wish they had a system enabled where one could choose whether or not to join an in-game session. I hate joining matches that are already in progress. I don't care if I'm the winning or losing team, if the match is more than halfway over I don't want to participate. Get me something else.
I feel like that option should exist. You should just know that it means it may take longer to get into a match if you enable it (pending on the number of players in a lobby). I know that might cause trouble with dropouts because many might choose to enable it and would make it difficult to re-balance teams throughout a match, but I think it would be an interesting addition nonetheless.

Is the most broken thing in the world.
They don't look for players who have the same skill as you (that would require a lot of resources to do), they just pick random people out of a random pool of waiting people (for ex. SC2, I am a Bronze player [but my play style resembles Silver/Gold], but I tend to be pitched against Diamond/Master League players)

In MvC3, I'm still at the rank of Fighter yet I keep getting paired against people 5 ranks higher than me. I don't mind getting pooled in with people in higher ranks in FPS games, as rank has very little to do with actual skill in COD and Battlefield. In fighting games though, playing against someone at a higher rank is actually a good deal more difficult as they likely have had more practice with their fighter(s) and are probably more familiar with the game as a whole.

Perhaps I should have been specific and said "specifically in Fighters, Racers and RTS".
