Max Payne 3 (and 1+2 while we're at it)

I went 'fuck yeah!!!' about this a few hours ago and decided to share. Sorry if it's common knowledge by now but I thought it still deserved a topic considering how great the previous parts were.

PS Though there's no PC logo on the site, work on a PC version has also been confirmed.

So what, now we have older and more grizzled Max Payne? Perhaps even better dialogue with even more action! I like the idea, should be interesting, and considering that it's going to be on a new gen console, they can probably really make this title shine.

I loved the first game at the time, thought now when I look back at it ( Played it once again 2 weeks ago ) It wasn't as good as I remember it.

The second one was plain awesomeness on a CD/DVD...though it was somewhat to short for my liking

And now, this...Me'h this is going to end with me searching through the entire web just to find some small extra facts about this game xD

Im a bit annoyed that Remedy ain't doing it, but atleast it's in the hands of some developers that knows what they're doing.

Yeah i'm pretty excited to see how this will turn out. 1st and 2nd were so good.

I really don't want this game to happen. The first two were really good and I have had a lot of my childhood memories raped and destroyed lately. I hope they don't fuck it up.

*sigh* I have to agree with you on that one. So many old-school games coming back and getting completely destroyed

He has a beard so it's already a win. Besides I have faith in Rockstar.
What I'm curious about is the potential story. No too much left alive after 1 and 2 and I kinda hope it to be a continuation of some sort...

That's what has me the most worried. It is also why when I first heard about it I asked why. Why do we need a Max Payne 3? What new can be done and how can there be a continuation? I don't want some bullshit answer as to a continuation that's just there for the sake of it continuing. Obviously a rather large amount of time has gone by or time doesn't treat Max too well cause he looks to be in his early to late 40's.

As for the game play I'm sure it will be pretty. I don't know exactly what engine it will be using but probably something along the lines of fear 2. I doubt they will be making a custom engine for it. Bullet time will be in it and Max Payne if I may say so is what first threw that concept into the line light. Since then it has been done to death. I don't see what new and exciting can be done with that aspect.

Some games just should be left alone to be remembered that they are what a gaming series should be. They should have left Viewtiful Joe alone, Turok, Area 51 (they're even making a fucking movie for this one), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (I will get chastised for this one I'm sure) etc etc. Let's not forget the The too human trilogy that is coming, but that never should have been made in the first place.
