metal gear solid THREE

Ever since i bought MGS 4, i was tempted to buy the essential collection, so i did, and i just completed the first one, skipped the second one, and im trying out the third one. it seems hard for me to get into it because of the strange graphics. the graphics in the second one actually seem better, and the concept seems a bit strange. also, the framerate is slow, at a lumbering 30 fps. does the game stay the same throughout (i haven't even saved sokolov yet, and im already starting to question it.

Wow, MGS3's graphics are far better than MGS2's. MGS2's are bare and have this weak pastel colour scheme whereas MGS3's are rich in detail with a real mixture of textures and atmosphere. I didn't notice any framerate issues and I've ever played it on a 32" HDTV so the framerate would be under even more scrutiny.
The plot of MGS3 is far better than MGS2, which a lot of fans sort of ignore or at least see as the "black sheep" of the family. The gameplay is also far deeper and more varied. On a slightly different note, when you get the cardboard box ring up the black guy (god damn it, I've forgotten his name) for a funny scene.
Also, you say "I haven't even saved Sokolov yet". I don't think it counts as a spoiler to say: The Virtuous Mission is just the intro to the game, like a tutorial almost. The game proper doesn't start until you rescue him.

i have a huge 40' by 50' inch sony bravia HD television set. should i play it on my smaller tv? would that make a difference? the game lags a LOT for me. by the way, i forgot to mention its substance.

Snake eater is fun.
Especially after you finish it, keep your camo, and start the game with an unlimited ammo gun and the Sneaking Suit.
Over 2000 kills was sooooo much fun with half damage and no bullets to extract, burns to treat, or cuts to bandage.

i figured it out. the reason why i couldnt do it, is because i didnt scan my surroundings, use my motion dector well enough, and the fact that i didnt know i could stalk.
Another major factor is when i moved, my camouflage meter didnt go down, so i assumed that they couldnt see me if i moved and had 90% camo, 'cause you know how in mgs4 the meter goes down as you move, and is a bit more accurate. thanks for the help guys, i finally get it.

Play it on a ps2 and you'll have no framerate issues. the software emulation they use BLOWS but your in for a treat the ending of that game is honestly only the second piece of fiction to ever make me cry. Not joking at all.

Ending?
What ending?
The game ended after the Revolver scene.
I don't know what you guys are talking about.

snake eater was the best spy game. you cant just heal yourself with rations. I wished they kept it in MGS4 not that im saying its bad (im actually on my 4th run through)
playing MGS4 in big boss extreme made me feel like it was MGS3 only without the bandages and food.
