Damn it, I was hoping to forget about minecraft for a while... but now I must see if I can make an underwater castle... damn you all!!

i have access to a private creative server and i build a nuke made a mountain around it planted trees and made a underground redstone trigger system with a hidden switch
people started building on it not knowing the whole thing is gonna blow up one day lols.

I tried MineCraft for the first time back when only a few people played Creative, but I never got caught in it. I came back to it in October last year after a few friends had been talking about survival, and I ended up forcing my boyfriend to buy it =P So, "I've" had it for almost three months now, and I do like the game, but I'm having problems finishing whatever projects I start, and I never play online.

Would be awesome if anyone had any private server that I could join? =D

Anyone try the painterly pack? its really awesome, it lets you choose you textures for msot items in the game.
I have the Ice world with a candy cane center lol and a more sersious pack for my legit worlds.

FYI to activate the pack all you do is take the .rar file you DL when your done and Drag-n-drop that into your texture folders under the textures folder tab in the game.

I've been messing with the alpha such last month and I finally jumped on the beta a few days ago. It seems this game is down almost every time I play it online though (but it just shows that people are really into it, which is good!)

I avoided all of the downtime due to having it on my desktop. I just finished playing on the new beta update. Beds are wonderful things to have. I hate the night time... and creepers.

Just a FYI for you minecraft players. I'm renting a server tomorrow. It will take 24 hrs for the server to be set up and a cpl days for me and my people to get the plugins and ingame content rdy. so anyone who wants to join please pm me ur IGN and why I should let you join. ANother FYI we will only accept a small number of people at first so yeah.

Say, anyone here know how to allocate more RAM to keep the server going stable at higher player counts?
I've tried hosting a server for me and couple friends of mine but the lag kicks in at more then 3 players connected at the same time.
I narrowed the issue to the RAM (showed only 100 or so MB used) but I don't know how to allocate more RAM for it.
I checked some threads on the Minecraft support forums but their suggestions to make a .bat file with custom commands to start the server, but they don't seem to work at all.
