Good news and bad news.
Good: I got the download to work. I'll take a while for me to catch up to any of you but I can play now.
Bad: The intended micro SD card doesn't work. Working microSD is only 4gb so I have to swap between the two for different games, unless I buy a new one.

I have been playing 4U for a couple of days and wish to ask for some opinions on good low rank armor sets. I use primarily Long Sword and Hunting Horn for blademaster and Light Bowgun for gunning. I am currently doing three star quests in Harth and look forward for replies.

Just make the armor with the highest defense and you should do fine until High Rank.

This is a good rule of thumb to go by, and as far as I know, Tetsucabra low rank armour is pretty good in defense. You can even get a Health gem from Harth and outfit it on the armour to get Health+50 and use a Gathering gem to negate that Gathering-1 (that's what I did in both cases, because I use the Tetsu's defense a lot when I'm unsure of a place's monsters, so I can gather slightly easier too).
Still, I decided to make other armours for the hell of it too. Lagombi certainly makes saving up on hot drinks easy, and Royal Ludroth will do the same for cool drinks. And holy shit, Kut-Ku armour. That Fire Atk+1 and Attack (which can be upgraded easily thanks to its many slots). That is now my go to attack armour, especially with my Chick Decapitator.

Fucking gore feelers.
Farming them with randoms ain't as bad as it should be, but holy shit. Breaking gore horns is agony. So far 0 feelers and it's annoying.

Also... holy crap. I need new armor and weapon. Frenzied Brachydios completely wrecked me. I forgot how bad the Lance is against him, and forgot his explosions count as fire damage. My -20 fire resistance Gore Magala armor got one shot by the explosion that I couldn't even move from because the Lance is so slow. Thinking I'll craft a Charge Blade and some Azure Rathalos/Garuga armor.

Gore Magala's set is fine. it's explosions doesn't count as a dire damage since it's a special type damage.you probably died because some slime still sticks to you.
and the better way to deal with brachy with that set is if you're using insect glaive. aim at it's head/fist to get the red essence, jump on it til it fall,go nuts on it,repeat the process.

From what I've seen, the Glaive fights similarly to the Long Sword, and I can't handle that at all. I can basically do the lance, dual blades, and charge sword.
Also, are the spoiler tags broken for anyone else? I'm seeing the image a few posts above breaking the page width despite it clearly being in a spoiler bracket, but without a hide/show (and it only showing).

When you meet a new monster you know nothing about, play carefully. Watch the movements and you'll figure out when they'll go for a big attack with lots of recovery time. When that occurs, strike em then prepare to avoid the next attack.

Poison or sleep depending on which path.

Then if it poison I recommend the use of shock traps to keep it still to hit it's weak spot to make getting the ailment off a little bit easier.
If it is sleep if you can manage to get him to fall asleep carry some Large Barrel Bombs or Large Barrel Bombs+ and lay those next to him as he sleeping and then hit the bombs yourself if you attack a monster while it is sleeping you do extra damage to it and bombs do not get affected by any resistances so they are ideal in situation.

After making a Charge Blade to beat Brachydios, I think I've fully converted to it. This thing is so much fun. Going to keep the Lance as backup to fight annoying fliers like Rathian, but otherwise I think it's full steam ahead on the CB! Up to the Kushala Daora fight or whatever it's called now.

Not all. I don't remember the GS having any ailment.

Spoiler:
It gets a sleep status upon higher rank upgrade or is it G rank... Not sure which one but it gets the status once it starts asking for carapace.
On a side note, anyone thats a G*2 Rank? Tired of randoms that are too cheap to use traps causing hunts to be longer than they should be.

Michael Baydios screwing over action movies and now Guildmarm. And she's loving it.
Ended up immediately phasing out my Gore set for Rath after 5% hell.
Hi-rank bosses make my IGs bounce like rubber balls(but I still broke Monoblos horn on Green so HA).
Magalmoto still makes me come back for more.
