I'm still not sure how I feel about this new console it feels like we went backwards to me it looks like a cooler version of the ps2 console also the games that are coming out not so great. Guess I wait till more games comes out in anycase what do all of you think

Don't do it.....don't buy the PS4.Save up that money and buy a PC. You have to be shitting me if you think I will pay 400+ for a console with no backwards compatibility. I mean look at the games during that showcase. They didn't show the console itself, but theY showed the controllers and games. It just looked like an over-glamourized PS3.

No consoles are worth buying on day 1. If there is one game that really catches your attention and you really want to play it, then you may consider buying it. I initially bought the PS3 for Final Fantasy XIII (right before it was released), I kept it for the other RPGs. Games that are available on PC will always have priority on the PC.

The only console i bought day 1 was the DS (which i played so much the L button broke)
I would say give it a year or so, to sort out the new features and get good games

"Oh yay, another Mario game" advertisement
PS4 new controller fails miserably at copying Nintendo's controllers
PS4 has absolutely no backwards compatiblity
Congratualtions Sony, you just lost a customer.

I don't quite see the resemblance? it's a DS controller with a touchpad, where is it even similar to any Nintendo controller?

PS4 has absolutely no backwards compatiblityValid complaint, no backwards compability sucks, but let's hope that they deliver on that cloud system.
That said I will probably yearn for a PS4 closer to the release, but it always worth waiting a while since initial release products tend to be inferior. Not to mention that there will be a severe lack of games at release, only thing worthwhile so far seems to might be Destiny. Which on the other hand looks like Bungies version of Halo 4 to me.

It sucks that it doesn't have backward compatibility. But then I remember I still have a perfectly functional PS2 and I don't think I plan to sell my PS3 any time soon, so fuck backwards compatibility. It's overrated.
Also, I fail to see what people are expecting from a new console at this point in time. Besides improved graphics, what do you want more? Yup, it's all about the games, so let's wait for this year's E3, maybe next year's as well before deciding whether or not we should buy a PS4.
As for me, buying the console will depend on when SE plan to release Versus XIII or whatever name they will decide to call it.
I see people spending a shit ton of money on products like the iPad but they're reluctant to buy a new gaming console for the same price. What the fuck man.

Well, an iPad can be useful and a tool of production. It is also a lot more useful in essentially every situation ever than a console is, with the exception if you want to bludgeon someone to death with it.
Not that I have the cash to buy either, but I'd probably go for the iPad before I went for a console at this point.

I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure a regular smartphone can do anything an iPad can. In the usefulness department at least.

I'll get it when it has a big enough library of interesting games to warrant the purchase, as I do with all consoles.

I bet we can all agree is someone comes out with a virtual reality helmet thing like in SAO minus ppl dying in real life at an afforable price with backwards capability and had not alot of problems i would say that is a gamers fantasy,i do feel that this progress with the ps4 WOULD of been GREAT for ps3 minus the DS4 controller cause its too early to be giving the boot to the ps3 to an extent
Dear Sony,
Dont try to fix something that aint really broken, why the tease?!

OT:
It's probably going to be like the PS3 for me. Meaning I'm going to wait 2-3 years when it's cheaper and has a decent collection of games(unless it doesn't accept used games and streams ps3/2/1 games that you have to re-buy, because that's definitely a no)
Also fuck that D-pad, and the share button. Even Madcatz could have done a better job at making/designing a controller.

Oh, absolutely, but they didn't make Halo 4, and they are no longer held by Microsoft (obviously).
One can wonder if they were just tired of not having full rights to their own games so they made "Halo 4" and slapped another name and new character models on it in order to not be sued by Microsoft.

The controller looks nothing like a DS controller...
To be honest I'm surprised by the lack of dissatisfaction with the way Nitendo has operated their company and their decisions regarding games, consols, and the direction or lack of attention towards the WiiU. Is it the nostalgia or the fanboyism to never say no the one thing that got them into gaming? I'm getting the ps4 and look forward to what it has to offer. I don't mind the lack of backwards compatibility since I still have a functioning ps3 and ps2 and can't wait.

It was really overhyped.
The consoles graphics look amazing. but to an average PC gamer its not that big of a deal.
The controller looks stupid, because motion control and touch never did go well for me (I turned off the options when I could on my Vita)
and the lack of backwards comp and now they say it might not even move your ps3 saves/PSN purchases over?
Im gonna hold off till some amazing games get launched before I touch one.
