Open beta just started, who's playing?

Right now the lag is a bit much for me, so I'll wait a bit for them to sort that out.

Didn't realize this game was so close to completion... downloading it now.

Edit: The fact that its made by perfect world and is free to play kinda frightens me. Most free to play games require that you spend money in order to be relevant(usually more than the standard 15 dollars a month). They say in the FAQ that everything is obtainable without spending money... we'll see how that pans out.

Cryptic Studios(Star Trek Online and Champions Online) also helped develop it. I haven't taken a look at the cash shop or how the pvp works yet. Let me know what you think of it.

I'm liking it a lot. The combat is pretty fun. The only thing I hate about it is that you need to use Zen(cash) to unlock the purple lockboxes that drop rarely. Saving up astral diamonds to buy one key will take me so long.

Can you explain to me what the battle system is like? Any similarities to other games, so I can know what to expect?

Left and Right Mouse button are your basic attacks.
Q,E,R, and Tab are your skills. The skill slotted in tab has an extra effect.
2 slotted passives
1 and 2 are slotted for special moves. Every time you hit something a meter fills, once filled you can use the moves.
Alt+direction = dodge mechanic

Lair of the Mad Dragon was pretty hard, especially if your group doesn't know to kill the adds. That was pretty annoying. Just recently saved up enough AD's to buy Zen for a lockbox key. Didn't get anything I wanted though.

Got my cleric and rogue to level 15 and re-rolled my cleric for a GF, deleted the rogue, saving the slot for the ranger once it comes out. Great game so far, tons of lore, player made quests, content and awesome character customization, pretty damn good so far, PvP is great.

Hope they give us an extra slot when they release a new class...

Just started playing today. so far i'm not impressed. feels like an extremely dumbed down version of D&D for the WoW kids. ultra simplistic(there is even a fucking trail that leads you directly to the next spot). I went from level 1 to 12 in about 45 mins, and had all my gear just handed to me, both as rewards, and random drops. no real character creation or development. can't really buy or sell anything of value with out AD, making everything you can't use yourself vendor trash(if you are F2P). crap class selection(no ranger?).

the one and only positive I see is the available races. and I was actually surprised that they were all available from the start for free to play.


just for shits and giggles I rolled a caster(my least favorite role) and he just walks all over anything that gets in front of him. the only time I had any trouble was when I was surrounded by 8+ mobs. even then, it only cost me one health pot(1000hp).

over all, i'd give it a three out of ten. nad that's being generous.


the only reason i'll play this game anymore is if ALL the other online games I play are down.
