I am choosing between the 3 new consoles, but I need a sincere opinion. Such opinion can only be given by someone that has actually played a few games on all three consoles and explored every(relevant) feature that it offers.
Please don't vote if you played only (for example) HALO 3 and thought it was, "like, the most awesome thing ever made by man!", it's a serious decision, I can only by one, no refunds.

Well I have the 360 and PS3 and my neighbor has a wii, sadly he;s in korea now so I dont get to play new releases atm. The 360 has some heavy hitters but not as many games that I dig. The PS3 has some good choices as well but not nearly the catalog of the ps2 at the same age (I do have to say though blazing angels with six axis control is gnarly, but I like flight games though lol). In my opinion the Wii is on top right now, the wiimote is downright fun and it has good nintendo games late 90's style. In home multiplayer goes to Wii, just cause theres plenty of silly fun. Keep in mind this is a reflection in my gaming tastes. Good luck with your decision :D

While the Wii is fun to play and has a few (emphasis on 'a few') heavy hitters, the 360 is the only one out right now with a decent library. I seriously haven't been impressed with the PS3 so far and I don't see myself wanting to get one in the near future. I think buying a PS3 at this point would just be for the potential it has, not for some good games right out of the gate.
So yeah, 360 it is.
So yeah, 360 it is.

I don't have the 360, but my friend who lives a few blocks away let me play his 360 for as long as I want. I've tried many games and I think the 360 has the most action/shooting games there are. I'm gonna reward myself a Wii this Christmas once I find it in stock and get about 3 games to start with. Basically I'm rooting for the Wii even though 360 has kickass games. As for the PS3 you can find almost everything there is for PS3 on Xbox 360 and I hear GTA4 is coming out with exclusive stuff for the 360 so makes it even better. Do I qualify?

I currently own an Xbox 360, among various other previous generation systems. I have to say, I have yet to regret my decision one bit.
Now, that's not to say that I'm an Xbot and believe that if you purchase another kind of system, you're a fucking nazi or something. I love playing my friend's Wii, and the PS3 is fun as well. However, the reasoning behind my purchase, (I got it a couple of months ago), was mostly the deal I got whilst buying it, and the games coming out.
Currently, you have Halo 3, Gears of War, Orange Box, and Call of Duty 4 on the 360. I love me some FPS, so it fits for me. However, on the RPG side, which I also love, you have Mass Effect... and.. that's about it. In addition, you have games like Dead Rising, Viva Pinata, ect...
It's a fair amount of excellent games, but it's really only viable if you have the money to buy (Or rent) most of them. Also, Xbox live is pretty much required if you're going to have any fun with most of the FPS's, and quite a few other games.
In addition, you got the dreaded "Red Ring of Death" to worry about. Microsoft now offeres a full three year warranty on that happening, but if it does, it takes more than a month to get your system back from the factories.
So, if you have some cash and are willing to splurge on Xbox Live and some good games, in addition to other costs, (Extra Controller, plug and play kit, wireless router [if required]), then by all means get yourself an Xbox 360. If you need something more affordable, the Wii is a good choice. If you're going high end, think PS3.
Unfortunatly I cannot speak for the other two said consoles. I don't own them. :P

I own a Wii and Xbox 360, but not a PS3.
The Wii: I wasn't really getting any games when I got it as there weren't that many that had caught my attention. But now at the end of this year, they are or have brought out some really awesome titles.Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy are truely amazing games, which are fun to play and last quite awhile. And of course, with Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart coming out aswell, it is going to be a good year to play it. The good thing with the Wii is online play is free, but there really aren't that many titles at the moment that support Online capabilites. The only title that comes to mind is Mario Strickers Charged Football. Of course, the gaming expierence is completly different to the Wii, which is what makes it very good. And the fact that it is the cheapest also makes it tempting.
The Xbox 360:
There is also an RPG called Eternal Sonata which is one I highly recommend. Plus there is Phantasy Star Universe aswell, also Awesome.
Anyway, I have had the 360 for a while and have never been bored with titles. There are tonnes to choose from. Gears, Orange Box, Halo 3 are titles which everyone has heard of. But there are some real gems that aren't known very well to the public. A game called Project Sylpheed, which I got, Is a game that I absolutly loved. The 360 has the adavntage of getting all of the great titles that the Wii cannot handle. Games such as UT3 and Mass effect are examples of this. And of course, the 360 has Xbox live. Yes, you have to pay for it. But I really don't mind considering how much fun you can have online. I know I may sound like a halo 3 fag here, but online Co-op Campaign was probably one of the funnest thing's I have done on the 360.
My advice: Get a 360 first, They have been reduced in price which is quite cool. XBL is an excellent way to spend your time. Then, as it's the cheapest, get a Wii for all of the exclusive titles it gets. Dunno about the PS3, but I'm waiting for it to drop further in price.

First off, I didn't vote because I haven't played ps3 or 360, although I do own a Wii.
I suspect in a year or two the PS3 should have some great games out and will probably get the largest number of really awesome titles, but they're likely to continue dropping the price as long as sale suck, so I wouldn't suggest buying one until there are a a lot of titles you desperately want.
Since it's been out so much longer 360 certainly has the best selection right now, although they don't seem to put out many traditional rpgs like sony does which is a big drawback from my point of view, but probably doesn't matter to a lot of people.
As I mentioned, I've got a Wii. I'm happy with it, I only have Wii Sports and Wii Play currently, but they really are fun, especially for playing with non-gamer types. If you like the nintendo's staple games (zelda, metroid, mario, etc) then I'd say go for it, although if you're not that big on them, hold off to see what kind of titles they get in the future.
Personally I've been happy with the Wii, but my PS2 has been getting the most time since there are a lot of PS1 and PS2 rpgs I still want to play so I don't really have any reason to buy new games.

I'd say that it depends alot on what type of games you like to play, as well as whether you want to have good games immediately available to you, or you are willing to wait.
Wii-I think wii has the best set of exclusive games out currently, and will be strong in platforming, with stalwarts like mario, as well as goofier fun games that you expect from nintendo. Smash, Mario Kart, Mario Party, etc. You also have Zelda and Metroid of course, which are sort of unique in the genres they represent. Metroid Prime is a great FPS in many ways, but it isn't for everyone, seeing as it's not about online play or realism. I see the Wii being weakest in the RPG genre, both Japanese(a la Final Fantasy) and American(a la Neverwinter Nights). N64 and Gamecube were pretty much blank in that area, and there doesn't seem to be any reason for that to change.
360-Doesn't have alot of good exclusive games yet. Halo is the headliner of course, and there are other good FPS, like Call of Duty, but I prefer PC for that kind of thing. 360 will have no shortage of shooters, but it is a little hazier in other areas. Bioware had a pair of good RPGs on the original Xbox in Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empires, and hopefully there will be some more quality games in the vein in the future. We didn't really see any nintendo-esque games on the original Xbox, but Microsoft did sign rareware, and perhaps that will change. It's a little harder to call, since Xbox is newer and doesn't have many established game series(perhaps Halo is the only one at this point).
PS3-The landscape is little barren right now, with Assassin's Creed as my personal top ranked game, but the PS3 should have a pretty wide selection of games in the future, and will be especially strong in the area of RPGs. Pretty much all the major Japanese RPG series will likely appear on PS3, including Tales, Dragon Quest, Grandia, and of course, the lord of the RPG realm, Final Fantasy. PS3 also should be decently endowed in the FPS genre, and has a few platformed, such as Jak and Daxter(or whatever). The PS2 had a huge range of often random and lousy games, but it did make for a large selection for those looking for pretty much anything. It remains to be seen if some of the excess of games will wander off to the Xbox franchise. But anyways, if RPGs are your thing, PS3 is your system.
Well that's my analysis. It really depends on what you like.

The PS3 is constantly dissed. It was released expensive, and has little game range today. Some games handle like pigs in shopping baskets and others handle like a well tuned Ford Escort.
The Xbox 360 has been released a while ago, but it has a good range of games today. It has had a few problems (THE RED RING OF DEATH, etc), but we assume that all technical difficulties have been worked out. ... ... Assume...
Wii has met a mixed reception. Nintentards are flocking towards it, and the hype of a console that sounds like pee gave it some hype. I personally haven't played it, but I hear it doesn't fail, it's just a little bit of a select user kind of console. However, I do hear it works quite well for the casual gamer/non-gamer.
Overall, if you want a console you can play straight away then leap for a 360. I hear a lot of good things about them, and they're decent to play from my experience. And you'll probably get good deals because of the length of time since release.

The cons about the Wii is that game developers can't make a decent FPS since they're new to the Wii's controller and how it responds so the controller becomes all clunky when it comes to FPS games :( .

If you intend on playing serious games, I wouldn't get the wii. The xbox360 provides some nice looking games but you risk the chance of it overheating.

IMO Xbox 360 is on top right now due to it's competitive and addicting games also the subscription fee isn't bad either. It's awesomeness will make you pull all nighters, you"ll most likely get a red ring of death xP. But, you can always re-slaughter it or send it in to Microsoft. I think I'm stuck on whether I should buy a Wii or a 360 now. -_-'

Seems like XBOX is the best according to you guys, but I'll wait to see what games the PS3 has to offer. Wii seems more like a giant minigame(WOW!) and bearer of Mario, Zelda, and Metroid, correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, I don't know how it is in America, or wherever you are, but in my country(Brazil), the Wii costs R$ 1250,00(about US$ 700) in a shop I know, don't know if it's the lowest price, though. The XBOX is R$ 1650,00 (almost US$ 950), and the PS3 isn't for sale in that store yet. The games aren't cheap either, that's why I can buy only one, they take a lot from your wallet. And would someone mind explaining me what "The Red Ring of Death" is?

What does that even mean? What is a serious game vs. a non-serious game, they are all games, not real....I personally can't conceive of how even a super realistic shooting game or whatever is any more serious than Mario golf....They are games, the purpose is to enjoy yourself.
The "red ring of death" is some sort of hardware malfunction that renders the 360 useless. The 360, like the original Xbox, has a bad reputation as being unreliable, though in the original Xbox, it was generally the earliest manufactured ones that had issues. I think the problems were overhyped by the people affected and the press.
360 is a fine choice if you like playing FPSs.
