Overall best final fantasy

I'm sure it's been said before, but VII has three big issues in the big picture:

1. Crap translation.
2. Generic, badly-written story. Not helped by #1.
3. Battle system took a step back from VI.

The music was great, the graphics were awesome, but...overall it doesn't trump VI. And I don't think any FF after those two has even come close.

Maybe IX, but only if you exclude discs 3 and 4.

I really enjoyed FF7 and FFX. Although I will say... maybe FFX is the best one for me atm.

FF13 apparently has no main character

Wha? It has to have atleast one main character, otherwise it couldn't be a story.

it was weird they said something like lightening was the main character but the story would be viewed from multiple characters O_o

....I would tell them to lay off the crack. The characters it fallows (regradless of how many there are) will be the mains.

Alot of peeps voted 7 as best. I'm glad that at least some people voted 9.

I find it interesting that it's fairly even across the board (with the exception of FF7). What does this tell us? That in the minds of the fans (in general/on average) every Final Fantasy is made equal. The extra people voting for 7 are just blind.

I don't personally agree with this assessment since I know some are inferior to others, but it's just interesting that on average they all score about the same.

well personally the only reason why i like 7 more than the others is sephiroth. not that the other final fantasies (yeahthats right i spelled it corectly) didnt have some bad-ass villians but i think sephiroth is the top tier. As far as 9 goes; i couldnt get into it, Zidane had a tail and that threw me out of it. The earlier ones were all fantastic but i still keep my vote with 7.

Anyways, i was wondering if there is a dissidia forum and if not, what your opinions are about it.
