Anyone noticed that with the exception of a few pokemon (minly new legendaries), most of the newer gen pokemon are only getting uglier?

Another generation of Pokemon? This should be exciting! I myself used to play Pokemon competitively but stopped as I found other interests. This new generation will hopefully fuel my desire to play Pokemon again and this time I will be the very best!

I didn't really like any of the pokemon after the 2nd Gen.

I thought pretty much all the pokemon after the 2nd gen seamed too childish.

but I'm was confused a while back about gold and silver, I saw a guide in a magazine just a few days ago for gold and silver have they rereleased it?

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Including some of the 2nd gen as well. 1st gen Pokémon were quite different from the "round and cute" Pokémon that became the rule in the next generations...

I prefered the game play off Gold & Silver out of all of them (exept I never got to play the R/B/Y)

I don't even think I completed NDS ones cause I found them too boring about half way through the game. I'de then have a brake from it come back forget what I was doing then restarted the game. I also don't like that there isn't any pokemon I want in the 1st 30-50% through the game.

Really now? You think the generations that created Pikachu and Jigglypuff weren't full of "cute" and "round"? Well, it shouldn't matter anyway since most Pokemon aren't intimidating in the least.

Nintendo should start making Pokemon real games for their consoles. There's only so much you can do with a portable system. A MMORPG would be perfect for Pokemon but Nintendo are still 10 years behind when it comes to online gaming so it will never happen.

And no, Colosseum and XD (see, even they know) don't count. Those games sucked.

Well, I guess we'll hear a better announcement soon, with HG/SS coming out in a month ish.



I think Pokemon RPGs being exclusive for the Nintendo Handhelds is a major driving force for their sales. See, a lot of people I know only bought a DS in order to play Pokemon. Especially those little kids.

Looking back, I think nothing can possibly be better than the 1st and 2nd generation. Pokemon Gold was my favorite, but the 1st gen kicked ass, too. Hopefully the 5th gen doesn't end up like the shitty ass 4th gen (god pokemon? WTF?).
