Spoiler:
Rant in the spoiler.
Spoiler:
You should be able to play though, I mean the beta is international.¨
EDIT: What's the problem btw?
Did you REALLY watched the video?
Anyway, if you're too lazy to load the video...
EDIT: I dunno how can US players still play this.
Wat, I played like just half an hour ago and I played all day yersterday. I am, however, halfway 'round the globe. (Sweden, EU)
Try to flush your DNS and keep at it.

Philippines here. I've been playing all day yesterday also. The screen skips from time to time but the lag is not bad.

Strictly speaking, I've never been a huge gamer. I've played some WoW back when it was newer, but Ragnarok Online (2D) made up a big majority of my high school years. I absolutely loved that game.
The open beta is now available for Ragnarok Online 2, and it's been in development for what seems forever. There's a good bit of criticism for the game, however I can't help but really enjoy playing for a more casual experience.
Anyone else been checking it out?

Thread has already been made.
I tried it out, played for a few days and then stopped.
I too played a lot of the original Ragnarok back in the days, and man, did I love that game.
RO2:LotS were fairly alright as far as generic anime-styled, F2P MMORPG goes, but it's hardly more than that, more than enough for some casual gaming though.
I had kinda expected it to be even more like the original, seeing how badly Gate of the World flopped.

Sorry for the dup thread :P
On a side note though, I was a bit amazed with Prontera. The size is overwhelming though and I dislike it at times lol
But what I'm mostly impressed with is how original the NPC's are with the original art concept in the original game. It kind of felt like Ragnarok "came to life" to me, even though I was still playing a game :P
My biggest interest in me is the graphics, I know there are games out there with absolutely amazing graphics (like Tera) where everything is just aesthetically pleasing. However, these graphics did a really good job of holding onto the original art style of the 2D game a lot of players spent many years investing their time in. The game was 2D but always had tons of detail in the towns and the maps.
What I don't like about the game is the limited stat design (maybe I'm just not experienced with other games enough to know better) but I felt like there were more possibilities with the stats in RO (even if everyone always did aim for the same builds for PvP etc).
I don't feel like there's a "fast" class, thiefs feel slow and weak where I'm used to grinding with a critical sin that had plenty of luk for higher chance to get gear and cards. You could go crazy fast, where I didn't get that experience in this game.
Of course there's plenty of bumps in the road with glitches etc.
I do like how there's plenty of old school monsters in the game to make me smile at remembering. Has anyone noticed the baby lunatic in the southern plains below Prontera? It's just this tiny little bunny that hops around the shops you see once in a while :x so adorable.
What I do miss from the monsters is how they behave though. You attach some monsters and the others mob you - or the transformation stages monsters such as a Creamy. They do have their own variations though, like in the Culvert the lady thief bug protects the larva etc.
All in all, I don't think I could get into this game as much as I was in high school (due to having adult responsibilities now lol) but also I just like it on a casual level.

I've died so many times as a Novice back then because of those Lunatics! As soon as I got Swordsman Job, I bashed Lunatics for a whole day.
I love RO, but I still don't get the idea of death via cuteness xD

Considering the game's still in Beta, I have to say I'm liking it so far. There's definitely some potential that's being missed though, along with some hiccups here and there, but hopefully those will all be worked out in due time, and if/when the do, this will be a pretty good f2p Ragnarok game. Also, if you guys are playing this, let me know your UN and server, so I can add ya, that way I don't have to play alone. >_>
I'm mostly on the Freyja server, but I'm playing a bit on the Einherjar server. Naradasan is my main at the moment. Swordsman.

I put so much time into private RO servers back in the day, if anyone remembers a Nefas Corporis or Jelloz it was probably me. :)
Anyway, I was not planning on playing the game then a few hours before they were going to release I decided to and fell in with a guild that formed around some guys twitch. I ended up leveling with him and a few other people playing none stop on the actual release. Needless to say it is far from a perfect game but it fills my time and I like hanging out with the guild I joined. The raiding is fun just can't wait to have my Priest up to 50, I'm at 46 and taking a break (for the night). However the first few days were iffy, very bad lag.
Feel free to add me if you are on Einherjar, I might even show you some cool secret! :)
Medwinz 50 Sorc
Medwin 50 Priest
Markkie 35 Monk... kinda my side project :P
Anyway, hit me up in game, lets run a dungeon or maybe raid, my guild has a Teamspeak that can be used for either... granted I get permission. :)

I'm still kinda new, and my characters are very low lv, but I'll hit ya up when I get the chance.A little tip, if you hit O there are a few quests an junk in there you can do for titles that give stats. If you need one of the boss ones done I should be able to solo the Lurker fly and a few others so if I'm not busy I'll come out.
Also, you might run out of quests, always try to do dungeons and the khara, if you do run out of quests then find monster busters and buy scrolls for monsters around your level then farm them. You should be in the end game stuff in no time. :)
And here is a great RO2 forum if you want to look up builds or theory craft.

Holy shit how did you level so fast? Power leveling like back in the old RO days? I only have one character which is a 29 Beast Master.
IGN: Nanael - lvl 29 Beastmaster- Ein server.

Currently I work from home so I have plenty of time to multitask. Also, the first day we played 22 hrs straight.
A little update I'm 50 on my priest Medwin, and am geared for raids. :D
If anyone wants to join our facebook guild page feel free, it does not mean you will get into the guild, but if you have questions we have people there.

I haven't been able to play that much, but I have an acolyte soon to be Priest, named Cesty, on the Freyja server. Shoot me a PM to meet up in game.
