New patch 1.01 released
Link courtesy of hongfire.
I think this is the new hook code for the patch:
/HB-C*0@56FE3D
I tested it out on a couple of lines and it seems to do okay.

Basically downloading this because it makes sure that taunted enemies WILL attack the taunter..otherwise it's bug fixing for problems that I haven't really noticed so it's probably fine to skip out on this.
I would make a copy of Rance IX before using the update though, people have lost saves and ran into various other problems apparently.

I don't really have the space to make for a copy though -_-". LET'S PRAY THAT IT WORKS, THE FIRST TIME! *dies honorably*
EDIT: Kanami was definitely the key in winning that free map lol. Without her ability to slip right past the enemy - while still blocking their path, which is insanely useful - I probably would've lost all my men before I could reach that slippery Ikeman lol...

So I knew about the method to beat the last boss before even getting there, so I figured "well it must be like tenacity" and hit it when it was at 24 health just to be safe because Crook was out of heals. Fucking hell
EDIT:Killed the giant blue monster boss with Sierra's sling. Ohhh that felt good. Found the real secret boss. Cried. Finished Revolution route, boss got romped by my epic grinding and luck with good quality items.

(From Shizuka"s route)
Also I noticed each time you complete a heroine ending, the epilogue of the main story gets expanded. The additions can be watched from the cg screen. So I guess the canon route is the main route but with all the epilogue bits added after one completes the heroine routes.

I actually have no idea if red orbs transfer or not. I blew them all on the final stage. I think I had like a gold orb left and it didn't transfer, I'm going to say that red orbs probably do not transfer. Also you can get like double gold orbs off some maps, so they're not as scarce as I thought, but I'm not too far into the NG+All orbs transfer into NG+ and I recall getting +3 orbs from certain NG levels but NG+ doesn't appear to be giving me bonus orbs thus far. Am I missing something?
I'm quite concerned as to how to clear all routes in one fell swoop in NG+ since my orb count is significantly lower-I might have to back track into my NG and do some clears there.

When I said double I meant 2.
Uh, I don't think there's enough orbs base to clear all the routes in one go.

Around 3 have popped up for me in in my time playing rance 9. Im in a 2x playthrough currently. Theyre those red matrixy enemies. In rance quest they gave skill points when killed and were called kaikaiup. I forget if the name is the same here but it probably is. Unlike the kyankyans that have spawned for me around 3 times as well, I have actually managed to kill these. The kyankyans always run away on there turn..
Is there any reason to try and complete all of the girls routes in one playthrough though? I completed half on my first playthrough and am doing the other half currently.

I have no clue, but the existence of the kaikaiups gives the option and knowing how Sengoku Rance takes a few months to clear blind without pulling allnighters I would say it's not beyond Alicesoft to plan that far ahead. King Hanny was a bit too obvious to be a secret boss anyways.
Feel free to try it yourself and tell us the results, I'm currently busy backtracking into NG to clear the already opened doors-unfortunately I entered super-grind mode after I entered the Revolution door so I'll have to do everything again (including the fragging bosses) and I'll probably delete my NG+ file.
Wonderful I found something even WORSE than King Hanny. Valentine regenerates 800+hp every turn, has double turns, hits like a truck and causes your allies to attack eachother. It's THE most aggravating thing in the world to get her down to low hp after around thirty turns, then have Rance start killing everyone(better yet they counterattack him and kill him), all while Valentine regenerates all her hp back in the chaos. Beat Valentine-Tillday is the ultimate boss killer, try to get as many of her star upgrades as possible because her specialization in proc'ng double action basically gives her X2 mobility, damage, chance to crit and upgrades her special attack-on this boss fight her special proc'd five times with overcharge to deal around 900dmg.

Yeah, Childie is boss hacks once upgraded. Plus shes nopan =D
Edit: I just discovered valentine as well.. goddammit.
Managed to beat her but it certainly took a bit. The fight went on for nearly an hour.
