Reccomendations?

Hey there Fakku. I've been a long time anime and manga fan, but never really got into visual novels until all the hype surrounding Katawa Shoujo drew me in. Now I can honestly say I'm thoroughly addicted to KS, and of what I hear, there's even better VNs out there.

So what VNs would you suggest for someone new to the whole idea of VNs? I dug through some other threads here, and Fate-Stay Night sounds good, but I'd prefer something that's actually fully translated.

Fate / Stay Night is now fully translated. And I highly recommend it.

I haven't gotten around to any either but I hear ever17 is good. Must visual novels I hear do have sad endings so if your emotional be careful.

Really? 100%? Awesome, I might download that one then. As for the others, well, I found the Master List, but that doesn't really give me any idea of what's good or not. They don't even have a picture or a description, and it would be positively insane to try and research all of them on my own. As for other threads, most of them have people talking about something they've already played through or already know about, so that's not much help either. Unless there's some sort of super noob guide in one of the threads I haven't noticed?

Definitely have to agree on Ever17. One of the greatest I've seen.

Actually i found Tsukihime to be a dissapointment, but i've only finished one route so it might get better for all i know.

Hmmm, I'd recommend the same games I started off with: The Sagara Family and the X-Change series.

Personally loathed Tsukihime. The only positive thing about it was to me, well, Arcueid.

So I finally finished Fate/Stay Night, and I gotta say-It's really wordy. I mean, it's awesome, and thank you guys for suggesting it, but damn it's a time eater. And UBW and HF were both rather unsatisfying to me. I gotta wonder, though, are most VNs this long-winded? I mean, they just took forever to get the plot moving in UBW, and when that happens, that auto-read mode starts looking pretty appealing.

So yeah. Just thought I'd at least thank you guys for the suggestions! I've already downloaded quite a few of these, and I look forward to playing them! Next on my list is that Ever17 Out of Infinity game. Hopefully it'll be slightly shorter than FSN. :P

Ever17 is the same or maybe longer than F/SN.

If you want short VN's go download Saya no Uta or Planetarian.

Saya no Uta is good.... just a warning for u.... prepare for the Gore Loli..... Hehehhehe
