Remake zelda

I am of the opinion that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, is one of the greatest games ever made. Unfortunately looking at it by today's standards, the only thing that's good about it is the story, the graphics suck, it's kinda glitchy, and the combat system is ancient.
I would like to see a revival of this supreme game. There's no reason that this came can't be remade to accommodate the new generation of consoles. remaking the Ocarina of time with the Twilight Princess graphics and system.
Think about it, the levels could be expanded, a few new dungeons could be inserted, they could add to the side story line, expand the game in pretty much every direction. bring this classic back to the forefront.
If FF7 can be remade, why can't OOT?

I just don't see the point. I'd rather have the creators spend their time making a whole new game, not just recreating an old game with modern-day graphics.
Besides, the story wasn't the only good thing about Ocarina of Time. It was fun to play, plain and simple. We may notice "problems" nowadays because we're used to different things, but if we act like that, then we end up saying that the very first Zelda game is a piece of shit. And I don't want to do that. The original Zelda is an awesome game, no matter what year it is, and so is Ocarina of Time. It doesn't need an update.
Then again, I'm also against remaking Final Fantasy VII. It's fine the way it is. Giving it shiny new graphics does nothing but steal money from people.

Remakes are the bane of my video gaming existence. If FF7 should ever be remade, then any hope I have in Squeenix will be lost.

Well part of the reason I want to see OOT remade is not so we can enjoy it anew. although that will happen. it's so the new generation of gamers can play and appreciate the game

And I'd say that most gamers know about Ocarina of Time, no matter how young they are, just like most gamers know about Final Fantasy VII. They're such great games with such huge fanbases that it's hard to not know about them, even if you've never played them.

@ wasred69: I have not heard of any confirmation of 13 being the last one. I doubt it's true.

Well, the original RE really needed a remake. That game is unplayable by today's standards, it has horrible control and looks ugly as hell.
Let's praise Capcom for turning that unplayable mess into REmake, one of the greatest games ever. (<3 Jill Valentine)
While we're on the subject, Capcom needs to remake Resident Evil 2.

Wait why end the FF series? It's been going strong for ages why end a good thing?
As for game remakes; it's usually a good thing but it's always a bit time consuming. Time those people usually don't have. However I do agree Ocarina of time was good but not as good as A Link to The Past.

Ocarina of Time was "remade" for the gamecube. I played that "remake" the graphics were exactly the same and they managed to bullshit together a single new level.
It's "remakes" like that that makes this idea of remaking popular games difficult to handle. I'm not talking about giving a few monkeys with hammers and socket wrenches (they need to have socket wrenches, the monkey union is very strict about their minimum requirements in tools and equipment) access to the code with instructions to take this classic and exploit it for as much money as possible.
If Ocarina of Time is to be remade I want to see it done with the reverence it deserves. I expect twilight princess level graphics at the least, push the wii to the limits. While including new dungeons into the storyline would be difficult, side missions would by no means be too far out of the question...

The Gamecube version of Ocarina of Time wasn't a "remake"; it was a re-release.
Remaking games is just like remaking movies. More often than not, there is no reason to update the original movie or game, except to make money. This is certainly the case with Ocarina of Time. The best thing to do is make sure the original material can easily be gotten by consumers, and Nintendo has done that by putting Ocarina of Time on the Virtual Console.
After all, like a movie, if I've already played the game, why would I want to pay money to play it again, with better graphics? I wouldn't pay to see a remake of a Hitchcock movie just because the remake was in color.
