Just recently the Rewrite translation was completed by Amaterasu; anyone else looking forward to it?

I've been waiting for quite some time as the storyline seems extremely intriguing and I don't think Jun Meada has something this deep into the super natural since One and that art gives me eye cancer.

So yeah, Rewrite general thread?

I've been DYING to finish this. I've finished Kotori, Shizuru, and Chihaya's route so far, and seeing the completion notice was a refresh in faith.

Although so far the endings I got don't seem as romantic and warm as other Key VNs, they're still pretty good(Shizuru<3). Hoping the true route will be as epic as all true routes in Key VNs are.

All the arcs have been really good so far. I think I've teared up to every arc besides Lucia. Playing through Moon right now and I honestly have no idea what's happening right now haha. My favorite char is Shizuru. Well, maybe second to CHIBIMOTH.

I've been busy with work, so I just finished Kotori's route. MAN THAT WAS SAD.

Working on Lucia's now, I have high hopes as Ryukishi07 (the same guy who wrote Higurashi and Umineko) wrote Lucia's route.

I genuinely believe you will like Lucia's route, it's definitely on the darker side, it's also pretty adorable how Lucia's true colors are once she's not bashing Kotarou's face in.

If you thought Kotori's route was sad, go play Shizuru's. Her ending is probably the saddest, and my favorite of all the heroines. I didn't like Kotori's ending that much, it was really unromantic, and anti-climatic.

Some minor spoilers
Spoiler:

  • Lucia was my favorite mainly because it is rather cute Tsundere that focused on the story. You actually use your power for something meaningful.


  • Kotori was my second favorite because I thought it was the most interesting given backstory in Terra. She does have a really really awkward crying voice. Sounds like a bullfrog dying or something.


  • Shizuru was a bit sad but alright. Their relationship was like more innocent almost like Little Busters.


  • Terra The story was good, but the ending was a bit misplaced or something. Its like you get through the whole story and there you don't get the resolution you are looking for.


  • Chihaya was too long for my tastes almost a grind to read. It was passable but nothing to write home about.


  • Akane route was just depressing. It reminded me of Akiha's bad route in Tsukihime except that was really good and this was just "eh why". Mini Akane was cute though.


  • Common route had some fun scenes and provided a nice introduction to the characters. With Lucia being fun to tease. Chihaya playing a good boke.


I would say its a decent Key game. Not the best or worst.

I am currently on Terra route, but I love it so far. Lucia is definitively my favorite. We get to explore her character more and how she changes over the course.

Yoshino is by far the best side kick since Sunohara

Spoiler:

Kotori - really good, but no epilogue
Shizuru - story is good, but they didn't emphasize the emotional scene enough
Chihaya - comedy + shounen route
Lucia - best one. It went from tsun to dere to dark story
Akane - I played this one last so it connected most of the loose end together explaining what happened in other routes. Kotarou is much stronger and likable than before

Rewrite 8/10. Plus 0.5 because of Akane, 8.5/10.

Final impression:

Spoiler:
For girls:
Chihaya > Shizuru = Lucia = Kotori > Akane

For scenario:

Chihaya > Lucia = Shizuru > Kotori > Akane

For scriptwriting :

Chihaya > Lucia > Shizuru > Kotori > Akane

Admittedly, Maeda is still better for emotional story overall, but Tanaka did a pretty good job, overall story.

Yuuto is really meh at Chihaya, but not bad at Shizuru.

On the other hand, I become more convinced that Ryukishi should've just stay in his best genre horror. I felt quite disappointed on Lucia's scriptwriting, considering her high potential.

Moon and Terra linked them all quite nicely (no surprise Key went with another parallel world concept). The only thing I dont like is that Key made Terra to be revolved around love story of Kagari and Kotarou. It's not a bad route, but I just dont feel it's a proper romance. It isnt, and at the same time it is, making it kinda half assed.

And of course, in regards to the funniest mini game in rewrite:

[size=14]I enjoyed Rewrite a hell of a lot although I was kinda wondering... right at the end of Terra would Kotori and Akane not recognize Koutarou?
Characters: Lucia>Akane>Shizuru>Chihaya>Kotori
Story/Route: Lucia>Akane>Chihaya>Shizuru>Kotori
By the way Lucia is my favourite... in case you didn't catch that[/h]

I played all 5 routes and they were absolutely amazing just like all key products. I do have one problems though...I cant seem to reach the moon route does anyone know why that is?

Key is notorious for fucking up save files pretty bad, I'd suggest skipping through all the routes on a fresh install, it shouldn't take too long holding down control.

Oh come now, it's certainly not Clannad long. Once my saves got fucked up there and it took far too long to control through.

...have you done Nagisa's route ALL the way through? I'm pretty sure that's longer than any of the routes in Rewrite, and maybe even any two-routes combined.

i liked Kotari by far because it was the only route that they went BACK to school and only happy ending
but sayuka died which pissed me the fucking off
skipped true route don't ask why
