General Gameplay InformationShin Megami Tensei Online: Imagine retains a lot of the qualities more recent Megaten games are known for. Graphically, the game uses a texture style similar to Digital Devil Saga and SMT: Nocturne, giving it an almost animated feel that nicely replicates Kazuma Kaneko's artwork for the series. It also appears to use a glow/haze effect, similar to the one in place within Nocturne, although a bit more polished in execution.
Like most MMORPGs, players are required to create a player character, or avatar. Players choose between male or female forms. They are then allowed to alter the appearance of their character in a manner they deem fit, by trying out different face and hair combinations. Beyond this, as the character progresses, the player will happen upon more than 200 different kinds of clothes and accessories. In addition, the game contains a multitude of weapons, including blades, blunt melee weapons, spears and guns.
As far as demons are concerned, the player will be followed by their companions onscreen. The game retains demon conversations and demon fusions. Alignment characteristics also return, being divided up into "Law", "Chaos" and "Neutral". The site itself also mentions something known as the "Gene System", although I am not sure of what this involves just yet.

Cool but yes seems crowded. If it gives us a chance to fight Lucifer or you know who (YHVH). It will be very cool

Currently Beta testing it. Lvl 20. The Fusion is what's really fun. Just getting monsters and testing new fusion is cool. Then testing like combo super attacks is even better

Got a beta code, so I'm d/ling it now...
Edit: Played a little, got to level 6. Pretty fun, but that might be because I'm a fan of the series. It's cool to see all the demons from previous games.

I've tried it out a little. The thing is, I like SMT games for their storyline and characters - hence Persona and DDS being my favourite sub-series of the SMT franchise - so an MMO isn't really going to contain my favourite elements of SMT.
However, if the main attraction to the various SMT games is the demon fusing and the collection of said demons, you may very well love this game. My computer is nothing special but can run this on high settings with no problems. AMD Sempron 2800+, 1gb of RAM, Radeon X1300... Would've been fairly impressive about 3 or 4 years ago but no about the only vaguely impressive thing about my PC is that it has a little under a terabyte of HDD space, and that doesn't contribute to performance.

I'm playing the close beta, I'm not sure if I liked the game but its pretty fun especially for demon fusing. The problem that I can see from the game is they don't list the stat for body equipment there's a few more but I'll leave that for Aeria's game forum.

Yeah, this no-stats thing is really confusing. The combat is clunky as hell, but its somewhat fun. Music's good too.
Oh, and for lots of mecca: Farm plasmas and sell the junk ;)

This might be shallow of me, I don't know, but I'll be a lot more tempted to play it when there's more character appearance customisation. I want to make someone that looks like Sera from DDS or something similar.

I signed up for CB but didn't get an invite. :( Guess I'll get on tomorrow after work now that it's open.
I have a feeling I'll have some of the same reservations as Teclo though, I loved the DDS and Persona games for the characters and battle systems. The fusion aspect of persona was kind of weird for me though, it wasn't like I loved it, and yet I'd spend so much time doing it I'd forget what I was planning to do with my social links afterward. Like doing puzzles on the bus I guess.
Which I suppose is the essence of MMO's in a sense. ;>.>
