Shining Hearts

Sega announced Shining Hearts in this week's spate of Japanese game magazines, the latest game in their long-running console RPG series. This particular game's debuting on the PSP, however, with a winter release date slated for Japan at a price of 6279 yen.

Synopsis
You play as Rick, a young warrior. You've drifted to the peaceful Wyndaria Island, where you now work at a bakery (Famitsu refers to the bakery as a "magic" bakery, although you are just baking bread). Rick lives alongside a trio of sisters, Neris, Airy and Amaru, who work with Rick in the bakery and have their own unique baking abilities.

The three sisters will be the targets of Rick's affection as you work through the game. Based off your daily life and as part of the story, you'll deepen your ties with the girls, and possibly develop a love relationship with them.

There's a fourth girl who plays an important role in Shining Hearts. The young Kaguya arrives on Wyndaria Island one morning following a great storm. She's lost her memory and emotion, a problem that you'll need to help her fix.

Kaguya's arrival brings some changes to Wyndaria. Once peaceful, the island becomes the target of pirates who seek the special spirit stone Kaguya wears around her neck. To return peace to the island, you'll have to combat the pirates on the island and out on the sea.

Finally a new "Shining Series" game, and good it's for the PSP, Once again Sega Chooses Tony Taka to illustrate again for them, He also did Shining Tears and Shining Wind that both titles were adapted as a (sucky) anime called Shining Tears X Wind

Sega said it's 80% done, and it's going to be released at Winter.
GAmeplay is your normal RPG with some gimmicks, and the graphics is well done and simply attractive for a PSP.

crap..finally another shining game , and they give it such an unoriginal plot..well hears hoping the make magic out of this cliche

Was it just me, or did anyone think of Kingdom Hearts because of the Keyblade looking thing in the title?

Seems like they are going for the turned based rpg style now.

While I love Tony Taka and like the game idea, I'm still pissed Sega didn't release a new Shining Force game(Shining Force Neo doesn't count as its not SRPG). Still I'm gonna give it a try

C'mon Sega at least do a re-release of Shining Force 3!

I love the shining series and the fact that Tony taka is doing the drawings, but the games need a little polish. Right now they feel like the Ys games. To me, theyre freakin perfect, but they change the style all the time, its like a series thats struggling to find a home.

Ys is pretty settled in the fast paced action RPG genre, but Shining went from SRPG to action to turned based. Its fine and all if the games are good, but they could probably accomplishe so much more if they tried to establish themselves somewhere BEFORE exploring new genres.

Lol, this question is rhetorical.

Well, like usual Japanese releases first, there's no news about localization.

But seeing past "Shining Series" gets localized, there is hope.

Ah, no wonder Itou Kanae Voiced 3 Characters at once.

It turns out the "3 Sisters" is actually One Character, that you choose in the beginning of the game.
