I was looking around and found a few games that I would like. But are for the PSP and... well i don't have one.
Can anyone recomend the PSP? I've heard its pretty easy to mod to which means I could get games online if I wanted to (IE: Monster Hunter 2nd G)

I suggest u bought it. There are many great game (well for me it is one of my PS collection). The graph is top notch for a handheld (because it is small it could easily bested PS2`s graph). I find it easier to play Monster Hunter there than PS2 (the form is flat (I buy the slim and lite)) but If u want to play FPS there I`d say don`t bother its very hard (for me, maybe not for you) to control.

I have one, don't use it much and haven't "modded" it. It's pretty good but I wouldn't recommend getting it unless you'll really be playing it a lot. I rarely play mine. Maybe once or twice a month..
Had it not been a gift, I'd sell it.

To contrast with the other people, I wouldn't recommend getting a PSP just yet. I'm pretty sure the PSP2 is coming out at some point in the near future, so I'd wait for that to come out, check out what it can do, and then decide from there.

Is there a chance that there may actually be a second playstation portable? Have you heard about it, is it just a idea/hunch or what?
I've seen concept images...

The newest models PSP-3000, based on the PSP Slim/Lite, will have a better LCD screen, a built in microhpone, and expanded video out. It comes out this October. So, yeah....wait until that comes out.

I did some googling on that 3000, and its not worth it. With it costing an ass load and all... Also since im considering modding it, the 3000 wouldn't have any homebrew which would destroy the whole purpose of getting it.
I think ima wait for it to come out than get the slim model with a 4-8gig stick. (Which is oct 14-15)
Thanks everyone for the input

PS3- Ungodly expensive
PSP 3000- Ungodly expensive
Coincidence? I think not.

Just chiming in to say that the PSP 3000 series won't cost anymore than than the 1000 and 2000 series equivalents.

if you've got the cash, I say go for it. The PSP, isn't one of the hugest systems, but if the games you want are exclusively for that system, then go for it.

I bought my PSP some time ago for 3 reason:
-Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
-Dissidia Final Fantasy
-Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Everything else is just extra, homebrew as well, got a SNES emulator on mine.

There were a lot of good japanesse games out there and I wanted to play those to.
I think today I will be a new owner of a PSP

well, let me be the first to congratulate you ^_^
as a side note, if you've never done import gaming before, it can get expensive and I would suggest that you read reviews and faqs before actually deciding on a game since it'll be yours forever and the only place you could sell it off would be ebay since most game trade shops don't take foreign games. also, if you can't read japanese, make sure you have a translation guide, believe me, it sucks to get a game and not know what they're saying...
at any rate, good luck :D

I'd say if you're going to pick up a PSP, grab the upcoming one.
And deals for a 4 or8GB memory stick duo is pretty easy to find now a days. They sell out quick so you should keep an eye out.
