Sid Meier's Civilization IV Multiplayer Thread

Hello all you gamers!
If you haven't already heard of a game called Civilization IV (which we so affectionately abbreviate as 'Civ'), you should go look it up. I'm proposing an occasional Civ game (since they do take hours) with some of you lovelies over Hamachi. (Hamachi is a VPN service that emulates a LAN connection between computers over the internet. tl;dr we can play using multiplayer LAN function.)




There are several ways to play this game, the two most apparent being
- vs AI (Just for fun! :))
- vs Each Other (For you competitive people.)

For Yushi and waar, I know you joined the Hamachi network yesterday, but I had to create it so join again. The login information is still the same.

I can't even play Civ 4 anymore even when I wanted to, it keeps on crashing for no reason after playing it for an year XD Well I dunno why.

everyone should play with us... it's pretty fun if you have a few hrs to kill and you can torrent it (as we have).

I'll give it a try since I like playing with others from this community.

installed all of civ and joined hamachi. Played through the tutorial, so I'm ready to go whenever someone wants to play.

I'll probably be the first to lose though, lol.

hmm.... well .... naw. It broke my addiction by force. Although it will be back in full when Civ 5 comes out.

1 am right now...finally finished a game against the AI.

I play so many games with so many people, so it's hard to resist this. I'll download it soon and play with you guys if that's cool.

I should of SS'ed the barbarian horde that appeared at round 4 or so.

We finished a game today, took about 4~5 hours. Me, Waar, Yushi, tsujoi. I don't have any screencaps, unfortunately.

Yushi had the upper hand initially with some free settlers. tsujoi began expanding boundlessly, and initiated a war against the Japanese empire. Waar pushed his territory into the Indian empire, and declared war. I surrounded Holy Romans with my territory before enveloping them, and Yushi began a campaign against the Mongolians. At the end our combined forces quickly made short work of both the Vikings and Carthaginians.

Forgot if I mentioned it in IRC, I have it all installed and ready.

Back from Taiwan. I don't suppose anyone played any games during the past week?

So is this only vanilla Civ4 without addons?

I got Hamachi and Civ 4 (and the 2 expansion packs). I can play if my schedule doesn't overlap with what I need to do. (Weekends)

Maybe I'll try that.

Don't forget to update to 3.17. I should really clarify this in the starting post.
