Story/Campaign vs Onine gaming

I dont play online alot since im always busy with studies and such...

I'm a part of a group of people whose principle is that "a game should be able to stand alone and be playable even in single player". Video games are played more by people who aren't that blessed with friends otherwise they'd be out getting laid or partying or smoking crack w/e.

Online gaming tends to live longer than games that focuses on story and there's a good reason why. Unlike storymode/campaign there's this feeling of satisfaction you get once you're on top of the scoreboard and likewise the feeling is mutual to those who will manage to kick you off there.

But even so I like Story Mode more because I'm a fan of a good plot. Also because I made it a rule not to stick too much in a game where I can't reach out and slap the other player across in the face when the bastard starts to act like a prick.

I thought I would necrofuck this thread and say that I hate Black Ops online on PS3 with everything I've got. I'm going to consider buying some story only mode PS3 games. Any suggestions?

Leaning towards Story/Campaign, but at the same time Online gaming is teh shit..
I'll just say both since i can't choose between the two.

I prefer strategic only games online, everything else is campaign.

So campaign it is for me.

I thought I would necro bump this thread seeing as PSN was down for a few weeks not long ago. Obviously everyone doesn't have a PS3 but this is directed at the people who do: were you annoyed by the fact there was no online, or did you enjoy some epic RPGs or other offline games while it was down?
