I think SMRPG deserves a re-release on the DS. That would make me very happy. After all Chrono Trigger is coming out on the DS as well. :)

Hell yeah, give me a reason to get a DS. I have a psp, but only three games I've beaten about a year ago, and haven't touched it since.

I think one of the best parts of the game was fighting a cake.rofl, it was pretty funny. A cake coming to life is kinda freakish.

I own the cart and ritually beat the game pretty much every other month.Wow, that's intense. I never owned the cart, but I rented it from Blockbusters at least 12 times.

Game was just released on the Wii's Virtual Console.
If you have never played it, go download it right now. It's basically a steal for $8. Seriously, you guys got nothing to lose.
As for me, I'm loving the game all over again. So many childhood memories are coming back to me as I play.

I remember renting the game a hundred times (and almost never a continuous rental, so I had to start the game over most of the time), before finally getting it for my birthday. I loved that game so much.

Officially, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars does not have a direct sequel. Considered to be its thematic and, according to Adam Sessler of X-Play, a “spiritual sequel”,[25] two successive RPG-themed Mario series, the Paper Mario series and the Mario & Luigi series, followed certain conventions established in the original. For example, the use of "Flower Points" instead of Magic Points, timed action commands during battles, and the collection of the seven stars. In fact, Nintendo originally titled Paper Mario as Super Mario RPG 2.[26] Square's involvement in the original game made direct sequels legally impossible without Square's permission, involvement, or both, so Nintendo changed the title to Paper Mario.[27] Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga did feature the Geno doll,[28][29] with "Regardless of the above-mentioned, the copyright of Character "Geno", reserved by SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD." in the end credits after the typical "All Rights Reserved by..." portion.
