FFS why dont anyone play Miguel -.-'...Im a Miguel playerIKR? Miguel deals beastly damage. Also, I get to use his super against nervous, defensive opponents. That laugh before he pounds your face to the ground, priceless.
LOL...I love his Super...5 Super on nancy...I think he has the greatest damage when it comes to supers....its like what 220%?
Anyway...Any other character you'd recommend? Im practicing Lars and Kazuya..
If you Practice Devil Jin and Xiaoyu enough, you'll be an unstoppable beast. I know, i've gone against a beast who uses those two. Only won 7 times against, what, 70+ games? Or was it 80+, I can't quite recall... I've stopped counting scores at the 60 mark.
If you're combo-happy, Asuka and Christie/Eddy would do the trick.
If you're looking for raw power, Miguel aside, use Alice.

I agree on the devil jin...but on xiaoyu...i havent played anyone who uses xiaoyu...On the combo happy part...yeah I also agree on asuka, but try using zafina, raven, kazuya(one of the best damage on a combo), leo is also good at combo totally unpredictable, feng same with leo, oh i forgot to mention, I hate BAEK...lol...and if its raw power I'd say Miguel, Paul, Marduk, also agree on alisa, saw new comers play alisa, and I kept on losing lol...even with Miguel, played miguel for almost 7 months now, and im at like 70-80% perfect although i can mix Sav mode to normal then sav...

I've been playing Tekken since the first game on the PS1 and I've played every game in the series since. I'm not a huge fan of the games, but I get enough enjoyment out of most of the games in the series to want to play them once in a while.
The thing is that I suck at Tekken.Until I played Tekken 6 and picked Lili on a whim and realized that when I play as Lili, I'm a fucking monster decimating all that stands in my path. How sad is that? I've been playing Tekken since I was six, and sucked at it the entire time. And now, I find that the only character I'm good with is a teenage girl in a frilly dress. It's sort of emasculating. Pretty funny too.

Like most people here I've been playing Tekken since the PS1 days and then on. I wasn't particularly good at it at first, but It's safe to say I know what I'm doing. I've been planning to invest in a fightstick.
I play Tekken Tag Tournament 2 almost every day. My main characters are Leo and Dragunov. But, I also like messing around with characters like Alisa, Hwaroang, Asuka, Michelle and Kunimitsu.
All of them favorites from previous games.

I need to get Tekken Tag Tournament 2, I played it at my cousins and loved it. Alisa is just awesome.
Tekken 3 is my favourite and Xiaoyu is who I normally play as.

You really should. I think it's the best in the series so far. Especially with such an awesome roster.
Tekken 3 is so nostalgic, nothing can top that game for me.

Am I the only one here who enjoys playing against Paul Phoenix?Paul is such a classic. I love having a Paul vs. Bryan fight.
I have Tekken 5. My best characters are Hwoarang, Alisa, Lili, and Asuka. No matter what, I will still hate Eddie and Christie for kicking my ass via breakdancing in Tekken 3. Seriously, Eddie is.....agh. My most common match-up is Hwoarang vs. Lee since my uncle prefers Lee.

Get Tag2. You're missing a lot.
And the reason why I like fighting AGAINST Paul is coz he's so fun to punish since his famous moves tend to be punishable.

I still play 6 occasionally. Haven't thought about buying TT2.I think it's worth the buy. The roster and updated Tekken 6 mechanics are amazing.

Seconded. The only down-side I think is the 'impact' effect they changed(or it's just me being nit-picky), it's more noticeable on the bound and the 'harder' impacts.
T6
Spoiler:
In T6 you can notice a little distortion in the picture when they do bound, and low parries, and harder hitting blows.
TT2
Spoiler:
In TT2, they removed the distortion and sorta just shake the screen. Also there is a significant difference in quality between T6 and TT2, it's still an absolute fantastic buy for any Tekken player.

Bryan was my favorite character from Tekken all the way to TT2 mostly because he was noob friendly and you can completely spam buttons. I remember making 10 hit combos with him without looking up the command list. He's mainly the reason why I try to do combos now.

Not only because they are frustrating as hell to master and i don't have the time, but because i'm still able to win a good majority of matches without them.

You must have some GDLK fundamentals. But fundamentals can only take you so far in a fight if you want to jump to the next level then you gotta how to do that can keep those fundamentals to win. If you leave your opponent alive when you have an opportunity to kill him then you just thrown the match away because your opponent is gonna be in rage and all they have do is one normal juggle combo and BOOM! You're dead.

ya.. most of them are quite hard to master.. that's why I always learn or make a combo for each character that can be use on most occasion dosen't have the most damage output.. but at least can use without forgetting which button to press...

Once you're dedicated to learning and memorize those combos then they become apart of your muscle memory. Just need the time and dedication to practice.
