The end of LucasArts

Fuck you Disney, fuck you. I am extremely pissed.

Looks like we won't see a Battlefront 3 :/

Though they've made a lot of good games, I haven't given a shit about LucasArts for a long time now, so I can't help but feel nothing at this news. Now Disney will license the Star Wars brand to developers. It's a move made by some bottom-line humping corporate cocksuckers, but it doesn't mean all is lost.

This makes me really sad. I don't know why they closed it, maybe they had a good reason but it seems really uncalled for to close them down.

I'm sure Star Wars games will still be made, but Disney will squeeze the franchise even harder than before. I doubt that 1313 will be finished though.

Any company that grabs any of those 150 that were laid off will be very lucky though.

Production is actually labeled as halted so they can sell it to another studio but it will most likely be a totally different game with new dialog, characters, etc.

I would say that Disney did something good. Lucas Arts is dead since they stopped making Adventures and only threw out Star Wars games, most of which aren't even good (seriously, aside from the Jedi Knight/Dark Forces and KOTOR games, there is barely anything worth playing). It's about time that it gets buried.

I would say that... But since that won't stop the glut of mediocre Star Wars games, pretty much nothing changed. So in the end, a lot of people lost there jobs for nothing.

Forced Unleashed was disappointing and Revenge of the Sith needed just a bit of fine tuning to be really good. BF1 and RC are amazing though.

I played Battlefront 2 and it was boring as shit.

Battlefront 2 is meh for me. Battlefront 1 online is fun. Faggots keep throwing detpacks for easy kills on BF2.

As far as I'm concerned Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast is the definitive Jedi game. Gasp. What's this? Jedi Knight 2 source code released to mark the closing of lucasarts, so now modders can go completely apeshit with the game? I'm not just looking at the bright side, I'm basking in its sun.

I have 1 Question 4 ya guys. Did George Lucas retired & sold LucasArts & Lucasfilms to Disney or what? Just asking.

This isn't the first time Disney has bought and shut down a studio.

I've noticed that the developers have been releasing code. I know that the LUA scripts for BF1 have been released and I heard that more code is supposed to be released for Republic Commando. All of the old games are beings shut down. I can't believe that I forgot about Outcast. It was an amazing game.

There still may be some hope that some developer somewhere gets it.
