The Last Remnant

Square Enix completly sucked BALLZ! using the Unreal 3 Engine. Game is unable to keep a good frame rate ( lawl 3FPS). It ain't a hardware problem, its all sofware. So SE completly took a shit on it. Its almost unplayable.
I'll wait for the Ps3 version.

Almost ALL of the people that made FF left SquareEnix [including Sakaguchi] and started their own game company [Mistwalker], so they no longer work with Enix on Enix titles. This includes future FF releases; the FF guys don't work on FF titles anymore. Its' sad, but also something a lot of FF fans don't know. Enix has been trying to keep it as quiet as possible, due to the fact that a lot of people will stop buying Enix titles and cost them money. The FF team belonged to Squaresoft, which was bought out by Enix years ago, giving Enix all rights to FF games. The last FF/Enix title the origional team made was FFX. X-2, 11 and 12 were not made by Sakaguchi's team, or any other Enix title since then.

There's also a demo out. Though they we're too lazy to change the map for the controls to a PC one...so its still a 360 controller . Which makes its really stupid. And no tutorial, so your just...fighting without knowing wtf your doing...and winning...and going wtf did I just do. I won't be getting this game

I found the gameplay fun; but some of the battles drag on and on....and god help you if you lose to a boss two hours in.

Alrighty. I shall be making videos on youtube for this game giving people advices as I go through the game with low BR. I'm aiming to get all of the hard achievements, so look for my videos if you need help with some part.

Computer or xbox?
EDIT. Argh I reread your post and you've talked about your TV being small. I presume you are also playing on an xbox.

Yeah, and the main problem with this game on xbox is that square enix fucked up the stats, so if you're playing through the game normally, all the later unique leaders are underpowered. And it is also a bitch to train when your BR is high.
For instance, on my first playthrough I finished the game with 98 BR and on my newer playthrough I reached 100 BR just a little after the 6 bases part. That's why this time around I'm going through the game with the least BR possible to get all the good leaders and then Ultra-train to get all the hard ass challenges. In this low BR I killed the first Namul Niram with only 4 BR.
Also since you're playing on xbox, there is no new game+ for you, so after you finish the game and want to get the higher achievements watch these videos.

Agreed. But hopefully my videos will be at least somewhat watched. I mean the game isn't THAT boring.
1. You're just going to breeze through the game mostly without doing quests up until a point.
2. Then there will be ultra training.
3. ?????.
4. Then profit!

what i need is a list of what items i can get from what creatures and rarity level....http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Last_Remnant_Wiki_-_The_Last_Remnant_Guide Is what I use to check up on EVERYTHING. Seriously, this thing is great cause it shows you anything you want to know, like what skills unique leaders learn, the stats of the arts, maps, components, everything.

I really enjoyed the PC version. Not sure with the XBOX but I can set it to Japanese voices with English subtitles. Hard mode is hard as hell at the beginning. I died multiple times on the first 10 fights. Its basically flip a coin and hope luck is in your favor. It gets easier though as you get better weapons. Shield of the Vanquisher and Shielding Hawkwind makes you pretty much invulnerable to any damage at all with the insane evasion on both of them.
If you do play this on the PC make sure you use D3DOverrider thats included with RivaTuner to fix the vertical sync problem and to use triple buffering as well otherwise it will get annoying with all the screen tearing during movies. And on that Wikia site find the tweak page as it will be really helpful.
Also look at the special arts page and look at the weapon arts section and those weapons that can do those arts are pretty much what you should be aiming for so figure it out beforehand as it will take until the end of the game to finally learn the art.
I have all my characters using badass weapons by changing what base weapon they use and then they will ask for the badass weapon that I made for them after a few fights. Look on the Wikia to figure out how to make it so you can change your crew's equipment. Also I prefer using the maximum number of unions possible so I can get some flanking on bosses and if a union has to pull off to heal then they won't get raidlocked. I usually roll with 4 groups of combat in Trident (3,3,3,4 people in each) and then a 5th group with 5 casters in it in Warhorse with Wyngale leading it as he can cast all of the badass area spells if you set the group up right. The melee groups are headed by people who can summon a guest union like Rush with Cyclops, Emmy with that rock thing, and Jager with Lob Omen. The other group has David leading 'cuz of his two specials.
The hardest fight in the game definitely has to be the fight against the Seven. It took me over 30 minutes on my last attempt and that was after probably my 5th or 6th try.
