The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors

Nintendo announced today the existence of a ZeldaxDynasty Warriors crossover title named, so far, Hyrule Warriors.
What are all of your thoughts on this? Will it work out like Dynasty Warriors Gundam? Personally, I'm excited, but skeptical that it will work.

I just hope their will be alot of playable characters.
I haven't played a Dynasty Warrior game in a long time, I did enjoy them though.

Damn does this title awaken my inner 'edgy teenager with a crossover fetish'. It seems ridiculous, but I'm looking forward to another Zelda game especially one that pushes the envelope. Zelda and Dynasty Warriors...who knew?

A new low. A game about the least fun part of Zelda games or a weird skin for a terrible series.

I'm wondering how many characters they could actually put into this. Besides Link, Zelda, and Ganon, there's only a handful of major characters that could be used. Although, to be fair, the first Dynasty Warriors Gundam only had about 16 characters, not counting the Musou Gundams.

Ugh crap gonna have to get another station I never planned to get! >:(
Big LoZ fan and have loved a majority of the games in the series so I will try to have some hope for it. The concept sounds pretty interesting too.

it seems like an interesting idea, but a few things
1. without multiplayer the game will get stale incredibly quickly, and should have online multiplayer (i still dont get what nintendo has against online co-op)
2. it needs to have multiple characters. when playing an adventure game with a story it doesnt matter to much to only control link. but in a beat-em-up style game where story is likely minimal, it doesnt hurt to have some variety. especially since it is a dynasty warriors style game.
3. the last time Nintendo trusted another company with a major franchice (other M) a lot of people disliked it for varying reasons. so this makes me a little cautious about this one
4. i didnt even know Techmo combined with Koei

I love Dynasty Warriors games so this is a no-brainer for me. I don't have a Wii U yet, but this plus new Smash plus Bayonetta 2 plus I need a console for the new Shantae game probably clinches a Wii U purchase later in the year.

Premium set comes with a Triforce shaped clock, and serial codes for 6 special costumes.
Will also be a †˜Treasure Box’ version available on Amazon and Tecmo Koei’s online store †˜GAMECITY’, but no details yet on what it includes.
2 player mode where one person is on the GamePad, while another is on the TV. When playing alone the GamePad acts as a menu.
Equipping different weapons onto characters will change the way they fight, including speed focused one-handed swords to heavier weapons that focus on damage.
Weapon upgrade system and character growth/improvement
Musou action combined with the Zelda series’ Z-targeting means you can avoid attacks and focus on enemy weak spots.
Zelda series’ spin attack appears instead of the Musou Ranbu (?) of the musou franchise.
Bombs make an appearance, won’t just be used for throwing at enemies.
Impa, a captain of the Royal Army, appears as a playable character wielding a giant long sword.
Several other characters are playable too. Aonuma was surprised by how many.
Playable at E3.
Development is 70% complete.
